Such good news that the operation was a success and that Alfie is back home.

He's doing ok, thanks for asking! He's a bit sulky because he has to have a plastic buster collar on now which he hates. The little soft blue one was useless and it'd fold back really easily leaving him able to rub his eyes, so it's a case of ''cruel to be kind'' and making him put up with the plastic one! It was great earlier. We took him to PAH as the harness I had got for him literally broke two seconds after I put it on him (will be sending that back, but needed replacement ASAP so off to PAH it was!). My sister was carrying him and we were waiting at the tills to pay. He spotted the rabbits & guinea pigs and was totally engrossed watching them So special watching him rediscover things

It was mummy, can I have bunnies and pigs for tea? Yes, that totally! I am waiting for him to notice my hamsters Their cages are both quite high and he's still a little out of sorts, so he hasn't clocked them yet!

Jus caught up on this barley. What really good news to read & I can just picture him seeing you at the vets & also at PAH. Now he'll be able to see the hamsters rather than just hear them

Makes you wonder how you managed without them in the first place.

Good thanks! Less squinty today so I think he's feeling a little better in himself. Went for his first walk today too Only ten mins onlead road walking as that's all he's allowed for now but he definitely enjoyed it and wanted to go much futher! He saw a dog on the other side of the road and wagged his tail & pulled to see it. All totally mundane normal things, but an absolute joy to watch him rediscover. I can't wait to be able to take him for a proper walk and let him fully enjoy it after all these years!

He's still doing really well Went for another short walk this evening and the nosey little bugger is so busy looking out for other dogs, snouting down peoples drive ways, under parked cars etc, that he forgets to look where he is going! He was watching a little girl on a bike on the other side of the road, and would have gone smack into a bollard had I not have stopped him He's only allowed 10 min walks at least until his check-up on Tuesday and he's getting cross with that already. Once we've done the little road loop, he digs his heels in and doesn't want to come home. Honestly this is great It's only now I am realizing that I virtually had to drag him round on his walks before (ok not quite, but he definitely didn't have this level of enthusiasm) - now he's striding out ahead. When he spots something and pulls on his lead, I beam like an idiot and nearly cry Please excuse the ridiculous harness - it's all PAH had in his size in a 'not over the head' style and we couldn't wait for ordering online! Whenever it's time to go out, I tell him to come and put his bikini on It's really hideous, but he'll be getting a nice new one soon!
