A week & a day post-op and pleased to report all is going well He had a check up at the ATH today and they were really pleased with him... pressure was good, no infection and the artificial lenses still exactly where they should be. There is still moderate inflammation but they said it's to be expected since his cataracts were so advanced and nothing to worry about at this stage, we've got a few different drops to try and recheck again on the 18th. Got the go ahead to ditch the buster collar and also build walks back up again, both of which Alfie is very pleased about. I know it's still early days and we're not out of the woods just yet, but so far, I am SO happy I went ahead and had it done. Alfie has been loosing his sight for the past few years (late onset hereditary cataracts) and I would say it was the last 12-18 months that it has really deteriorated and affected his quality of life, but I really hadnt noticed how much until now. I got quite emotional when the surgeon asked how his vision was because the change really has been that quick and dramatic. I was expecting an improvement, but I guess it wasn't totally apparent how little vision he had before and it's quite literally like a whole world has opened up to him and it's an absolute joy to see. I can't wait until he's back on form and he can really start exploring the world again Few pics from today's first (gentle) off lead walk. He'd look a bit happier if it wasn't drizzling I'm sure!

I am really sorry to hear that the treatment is not working at the moment, hope it starts to really soon. Is the AHT advising as to if it is normal for the treatment to take a while to kick in etc? Sending you a really big hug.
