You and the vet are trying everything for Osiris. I'm glad that Osiris put on some weight and is eating. It's just finding something he likes day by day.

Poor Osiris him not wanting to eat maybe the fact that he just doesn’t have any appetite bless him. It’s a real hard time for you tonib we all know how hard and upsetting it is with his prognosis - to see our beloved pets struggling and not being able to do anything is just heartbreaking 💔 It’s just keeping him comfortable and hopefully he will eat a little . Hoping he stays stable and eventually starts to eat a little. Sending hugs 🤗 x |

chantel, he wants to eat but just can't find the right thing. Raw mince was good over the last day or so but he's not touched it this evening although had it earlier. At one point this afternoon he was weak at his rear end & was walking more on his heels (not a full plantigrade stance) so I've arranged to take him to the tomorrow morning (the vet was off today so couldn't speak to him) 9:10 & he'll have no food after 10:20 this evening & no water after 7:30 a.m. so that if necessary he can be sedated for bloods & potentially a dental depending on the consultation results. Of course this evening he's back to walking normally!

Saw the vet as planned this morning, told him what had happened & that he'd gone off the mince although he did eat more when hand fed. Osiris was very subdued although he'd been purring in his carrier in the waiting room, rather unusual for him, he's normally silent.
The vet queried whether Osiris' head had been down as if difficult to keep up (a sign of low potassium) then checked his mouth & said he was pale so probably anaemic, then felt his mass & said that had grown, he'd only been seen 2 days ago on Tuesday! & also Osiris was reacting to it being palpitated which he hadn't before so probably now painful. He listened to Osiris' heart & chest & asked whether I'd noticed Osiris breathing more from his stomach, which I hadn't but I had wondered if his sides were slightly swollen (like Roman's were) but wasn't sure as he had no fur just in front of his haunches from being shaved for the ultrasound so since then has looked broader in the chest. I asked if the vet thought there might be fluid in the chest cavity which is what Roman landed up with & he said possibly.
I apologised for asking but what did he think & he felt that the time for using science/medicine had now gone so we should leave the blood tests & dental alone. We agreed that it was Osiris's time.
They were as kind & caring as ever at the vets & Osiris went to Rainbow Bridge peacefully.
Can't believe its only 5 weeks & a day since the mass was found which was just under 8 weeks since his abdomen was last felt with no sign & his abdominal ultrasound which found nothing untoward was only 3 months previous to that.

You have very good vets tonib. Kiba-Khan also purred in the vets when I took him to be pts. I think they are just happy that we are there for them in their last moments. Thinking of you and sending hugs. |

Its so so sad how quick the mass can grow , Beau was about 6 weeks for us too.
