Extra fish it is then tonib. I love the name Madam Fatso for Lexie. You'll neve change her greed for food because she came from a house full of so many cats and probably had to eat quickly when food was out.

The same as ever lotsofcats, picky on food. I want him to eat some cat food as his Nutraquin & Ipakatine (phosphorous binder for his kidneys) are all powders which really only mix in wet food, along with his potassium supplement (liquid). He just wants chicken but that's difficult to put the meds in. He'll normally eat home cooked chicken breast at bedtime (historic for coming in at night) but not so keen on it in the morning or for tea. Supermarket (Morrisons/M&S)packet sliced roast chicken usually works fine. But that's been the case for a while, although the amount of cat food consumed is reducing, just need to find the right one. He's due his next monthly injections 17th/19th May so will see what the vet says then. He's spending a lot of time outside (not sure if that's got anything to do with the 2 new boys - I hope that's not the whole reason) often laying, almost hidden, on the lawn (its a bit too long at the moment). He's not wandering too far these days but does have the occasional circuit of the neighbourhood. It's just a case of taking it month by month & being guided by the vet.

Have you tried Osiris with the new Whiskas with 2 flavours together? Or, after you've mixed his medication in the wet food, squirt tube of Lick-e-lix over it. Good that Osiris is going out tonib.

I've tried just about every Whiskas, Felix ASGAIL, Sheba (pouches & trays), Gourmet, Applaws. I've had the occasion success with Waitrose tin Chicken with Duck (the duck is a slice of duck not shredded!), its only a complimentary food as is the tinned Applaws I don't have a very close Waitrose although I can get deliveries (or at least I see the delivery vans around) but I have to buy the individual tins as the boxed version includes more tuna tins than chicken & he's never been a fan of cat tuna. I've just checked the box is still available but the individual tin is not. I'm heading neat a Waitrose tomorrow but as its a Sunday I may not have the time to go there as it will be 30 minute detour (15 each way) Osiris is a weird cat, he's never liked cat treats, won't even touch a piece of chicken if I hold it in a hand that has handled treats or kibble!! I'm sur I've tried Lick-e-Lix in the past but I might give it another try. Today I got some of PAH's pouches, Natures Menu tins & Meowing heads to see how they are liked. At least he attempted the Meowing Heads turkey but didn't eat much! As to Osiris going out he's always wanted that rather than staying in although he'll happily stay on occasion so long as he's not forced to!!!!!

Sorry to read all this , must be very frustrating trying to find food he will eat. Ruby the cat in the house where l dog sit , shes a funny thing , she leaves her food and would rather eat the tiny kibble thats put down for the mini Yorkie , in fact shes the first to get stuck in , poor Tilly just sits there waiting her turn 🤭 Have you tried sandwich paste to put meds in tonib , just a thought .

Good thinking with the paste I have used that in the past to hide tablets it worked wonders. It’s really frustrating for you trying to find something he will eat. Riley is a very fussy eater and when he was younger I think we tried every wet food going and then he would eat a bit so I thought we had cracked it but the next day he would just turn his nose up at it 🙈 we have come to the conclusion that he does not like any wet dog food at all - he eats dry kibble and a boiled chicken fillet for his tea not great on the money side of things it has gone up from £3.50 to £4.00 now at Aldi for about 4 pieces (frozen) 🙈 Just a suggestion tonib but does he like mackerel in tomato sauce/ pilchard we sometimes give that to Freddy for a change - I’m betting you have tried it already. I really do hope u find something that he likes it won’t be great for you on the money side of things either with everything going up 🙈let us know how u get on.

You must be frustrated tonib, trying anything and everything to get Osiris to eat. Bramble is starting to not like any of the food I'm offering her lately. Luckily she still loves all cooked meats. I think I might have to just give her what she likes. She's now almost 16 and a half and slowing down a lot.

I found a bone broth I will hopefully set a picture of the box it's supposed to be very good ut can be frozen in these ice trays and used over a period of time what I'm doing is putting it over his wet good and booms loves

Saw the vet this afternoon, a week earlier than the planned month but when I rang to book for next week it turned out she was going to be on holiday so brought it forward, especially as Osiris is getting very picky again & also seems to be feeling his arthritis more.
The bad news is she could feel the mass had grown more in the 3 weeks & he'd lost some weight. The good news is that she believes its not his time yet especially as he didn't seem to be in pain & was quite able to grumble about being put on the scales & if all he wants to eat is chicken then let him have that & not to worry too much about getting his supplements into him. She gave him his Solensia injection (arthritis) & the Depomedrone (steroid) & will see him again in around 3 weeks (earlier if worried)
The steroid did its job & like last time when he got home he tucked into food both cat food & chicken (almost finishing his breakfast that he had previously ignored!!!
From now on he's having a divided bowl for the microchip feeder, one half containing supplement laced cat food & the other cooked chicken or whatever else he will eat. This evening he had some of the chicken but then didn't want the rest but had a little pork. The vet suggested little & often but that maybe a little difficult due to other cats (Lexie) muscling in!!
He's sleeping quite a lot, during the day out in the garden laying on the lawn in the (long) grass & on the bedroom carpet rather than the bed as normal at night. I did ask the vet if the mass would make him feel warm as the grass would be cool. She said she was interested in how humans reacted to similar conditions to animal but in this case didn't know but considered it could have that effect due to body reactions to the tumour or the tumour itself. Trouble is we can't ask Osiris!!! Mind you as to the night time floor that might be due to some restless nights I'd had!!
