She goes out quite a bit now and always knows where to come for luxury cuisine! So have you seen those Felix sauce sensation things? I was looking at them when we were in Asda this morning and there were all kinds of weird mixes like fish in a turkey sauce and bacon in a shrimp sauce... I wasn't sure she would like anything like that but I have got her a tin of pink salmon and you know those big cat climbing tower things with toys on? She loves playing on that and swings about like a monkey and sometimes nearly falls off.

My cats (except for Toffee) didn't like those new Felix sauce sensations with weird mixes. I won't be buying those again. I would love to see some pics of Duchess on her new climbing tower.

UPDATE: Duchess went yesterday to have her stitches taken out. She was good as gold. This morning though I was up early to watch the cricket an she had been going in and out, was playing a lot and had upturned some socks and shoes by the front door, anyway I just went to look and I can see a dead mouse on the floor. I hate seeing anything dead and so as I am typing this I haven't done anything about it, it is still lying there. Obviously by the time anyone reads this I will have had to dispose of it. In the bin probably but I think anything that has its life ended deserves a proper burial. That poor mouse never did any harm 9probably) but isn't it in a cat's nature to hunt prey and kill? I am quite upset by this.

I am very upset by this. I laid the mouse on kitchen towel. It was still not cold. But dead. Then I put kitchen towel on top where the mouse is in a plastic tray. I found this lovely small pink carrier bag the tray fits perfectly into. I can sellotape it all together and can bury it in the front garden. A horrible start to the day.

And that's the downfall of loving and owning a cat! I can understand how you feel as I have been there many a time. Don't feel that Duchess has done anything wrong, in fact she has brought you a 'thank you' present and she should be praised for it (even though you don't agree with it). My cat Toffee catches loads of things and he even pushes them into the cat pen for the other 6 cats, sometimes they are still alive then. The latest of Toffee's catches was a woodpecker, which I was really sad about as they are rarely seen. Glad that you are giving the poor mouse a proper burial.

It's kind of worse now because she went out around 2pm and I got back at 4pm almost two hours ago and there is no sign of her, it is dark outside now, I did go call her just in the nearby roads but I am sat here hoping for the sound of the bell from her collar now, I will come back and write if there is positive news, she has always come back before but I am worried right now.

Still no news - I leave doors open so she can get in if she does come back, it is all I can do to sit worry and wait.

Quickly she was my world. Slowly I am heart broken. Please feel my pain. Where has she gone? I am drinking and playing music but it just makes me sadder. I love you so much Duchess. But you already know that. I bought you fresh prawns today.

A neighbour said he knocked for me a few times, Duchess had been in his bedroom all day. She must have had an adventure. When I picked her up she was not happy and was struggling but soon as she recognised this place she settled right away and is enjoying a tuna and prawn supper. I don't feel silly about being dramatic, I was seriously worried for her welfare as she has become my world, I was crying and thinking that without her I have nothing. It is a happy ending, I am sorry if I alarmed anyone.
