Fantastic news bless her , bless your neighbour for letting her stay, dont ever worry about coming on here and voicing your concerns , better out than in some times you may feel like you are talking* to yourself on here but eventually you will be heard

So glad Duchess is safe & sound God Less America. I know that worry, one of our cats (Roman) was missing over 24 hours. This was in the days we let our cats have access to outside 24 hours a day (unless it was Bonfire Night or the like). He had kibble available to him overnight but there was no sign of it being eaten. We eventually found him happily heading home from well with in the adjacent country park. I kept getting up during that night to see if he was in or had eaten anything, I not that I slept much anyway. I even went out wandering the streets during the night to see if I could find him. That was the longest he was absent but I've still had to go hunting for him or Osiris late at night. As scallywag said sorry no-one was on the forum when you needed to chat but even just typing your concerns can help. Sounds like you have a good neighbour there. Duchess was probably upset about the vet visit although she has done you the honour (in her eyes) of a gift. Sadly, as you say, it is their nature to hunt and sometimes to make their prey a gift to their family. Dealing with those presents is not something I relish

Thanks people, the neighbour Gary has one of Duchess's daughters from her first litter.
It's all a bit complicated like on a Jeremy Kyle show.
Her behaviour to me just seems to have changed recently, first the mouse thing, then going away but I told her I don't mind what she does, long as she comes home.

Thanks scallywag you must say appearances deceiving she can have the devil in her for sure but it must have been tough on the streets does it explain why she can be a bit wild? And I have a question for everyone, when you talk to a cat they seem to answer with their tails? She does it and that's what I think, not talking the reply but replying by tail movement?

Glad that all turned out ok and Duchess was only having an adventure while you worried yourself silly!!! This is what cats do. I worry when Toffee doesn't come in and the other week when he was out adventuring I actually went out walking the roads looking for him at 10.00pm. I worry so much until he is back and actually feel sick with worry. Another downfall to owning a cat! But, when they look at you and purr they are totally forgiven.
I love the pic of her, she's very much like my Kali.

It's not a bad photo is it, I took it using a tablet, you can adjust a lot of settings though I am not sure how to do that so it just was taken waiting for her to sit still and I know the flash was on so it looks quite bright.
Today she has gone outside a little while but already come back in, she settled on the bed and loves watching tv, she was watching Emmerdale earlier. I think she has come in waiting for classic Coronation Street on channel 10!

She is a tortie and everyone knows what a naughty-tortie is like, - a little bit wicked for sure. Yes, cats do seem to answer with their tails. Some of my cats are very 'talky', especially Kai Ruki, he replies to my comments and questions. I like having 'conversations' with him, he is so funny.

At the vets there was a great picture on the wall of a cat orchestra and it was called Last Night Of The Toms. The internet is amazing too - I could find it.

Sometimes cats have the devil in them don't they. Tonight Duchess is energetic like she is possessed or something.
Four police knocked on the window, wanted to talk to me so I let them in, it was two police and two community ones.
They just were checking on me really, what with the couple above who are evicted now and were dealing drugs, they asked if anyone had asked me to look after anything for them, if anything bad happened would I phone them, course I would I said.
I told them on their way out that is my cat Duchess I said, she is named after a Genesis song.
But may e when it is a full moon, cats go bonkers, seems like that anyway. Thank you for all the nice comments about Duchess. The vets said she is in very good condition, her coat looks healthy, shiny and sleek it is.
But the last couple of days she has been fussy about food, usually she eats anything but has left first of all shrimp and plaice now turkey which I gave her instead.
