Firstly {{{ Hugs coming your way }}} What a horrid time you are having hopefully family are near so you have company to chat to ? Other than us cyber friends ? I had a big post and then lost it all and photo bucket wont play ball so can't show you my hug it's times like this that you need your family and friends around you, not us strangers ( with the exception of alfiemummy whom you met and know her in the flesh, as have I but just know, that we are all here for you and feel your pain, anxiety and lonleyness , missing your boy not being there with you at home I would have done the same as you, what matters most is that he is happy and knows his mum is close by, and he is back home with you soon and out of pain. My Tobi was in the hospital for 7 weeks , so I know the lonleyness you are feeling, please let us know ( when you have time ) how it went tomorrow. Obviously you have a lot of me time to spend with Alfie which is more important so will wait patiently to hear from you both xxxxxxxxx Edit ... P.B IS WORKING SO... from me to you x

So sorry barley Can't imagine how you must be feeling as it just seems like one thing after another for you two at the moment! I would probably have made the same choice as you. Like you say, at least this way he won't have any more problems with the eye and should finally be on the mend. He's a tough little man and I'm sure he'll adapt to it really well. Will be thinking of you tomorrow x

Just holding onto the fact he is still, despite everything, in a better situation sight wise than he was at the start, so it'll still be an improvement for him. xx I dithered over the op for ages and changed my mind so many times... but I can't risk more surgery for him if it doesn't work, and lets face it, with Alfie's current luck, if anyone was going to develop a secondary infection or another ulcer, it'd be him

Poor Alfie - you have made the right decision for him and he will soon be as good as new with one eye, animals adapt to these things better than humans. It will bother you more than it will bother him. I had a cat that had one eye removed and he coped really well with it. Will be thinking of you until we hear how he is.

He got through the surgery fine and was doing really well when I spoke to them this afternoon. They are going to keep him in tonight but just as a precaution, they're happy with now he's doing

I'm so sorry to read this barley, but like you have said he still as his other eye so I'm sure he will adapt without too much difficulty. Poor lad, and you too. You've both been through so much these last few months. Sending you {{HUGS}} and things can only go one way from now on.
