Have just done a very small Natural Instinct order. Mums freezer can not hold much for the dogs. Dogs staying with mum for a few days soon and wanted something that is really easy for her to feed them. Though to be fair the natures menu nuggets would also be fine and may end up being fed.
Ordered the special, banquet chicken, banquet turkey and the working turkey (though some of the working turkey will be for Phoebe).
Been using a bag of the country hunter duck Natures Menu nuggets which claim to be 4% fat. Was concerned that the duck might not be a good idea but it seems to be suiting her so I will give her more of it in the future. I had a bag in freezer from a while back so not something I bought in since diagnosis.
Starting to make a list to ask the vet, sure I will miss something! Have the % of fat on list along with a few other minor points. I keep thinking that she is looking a bit thin. Will be good to get her on scales next week to confirm if she is holding steady or losing!
Though not a subject most are happy to talk about, have to say that I think her poos are looking a lot better, now a lot less volume, better colour and consistency.

Did you look at the Christmas Feast or have they stopped doing that one now?
Glad the poos are looking better now!

orpheous87 forgot to look for it, probably just missed it! Just had a look myself there. It doesn't appear on the website anymore so they must have stopped doing it for now. Shame, I would have got some at Crufts if they'd still had it!

Today Gypsy had a bit of venison, bought in local shop and was only 2.5% fat so thought it was worth a try. Though too £££ for her to have all the time. Hoping to do an online order with one of the companies that does game meat but at the moment there is no space for me to do that. Problem is it will be out of season soon!

If I'm not mistaken, I think Paleo have it all year round. I'm sure I've been getting it almost constantly. Or it may be MVM that seem to have it in stock all the time.

Think you are right about Venison. Muntjac are not native so there is no closed season. The other species do have closed seasons but it varies by species and if they are a stag/buck or a doe. countryside-alliance.org/game-seasons/ I had not realized that Pheasant is already in closed season!

Been to vets, in house bloods are 'inconclusive' so they are being sent externally again Vet agrees with yours Zahada to aim at 7% fat.

Is there a reason why Gypsy hasn't had a scan to see the size/shape of her pancreatitis? Jaws was scanned fully conscious, standing up by a peripatetic specialist.

Vet has not suggested to scan her

At the moment all that has been done is blood work which has shown abnormal results regarding the pancreas (all other results were easily within normal range, including liver). Vet wanted the blood work repeated 4 weeks after the initial set which is where we are at now (this time only pancreatic parts of the blood work are being done). Though got to wait at least 48hrs now for them as they have gone to lab rather than being in-house bloods as the in-house one (SNAP) was inconclusive.
She has not seen or been referred to a specialist.
How well would a case of pancreatitis show on scans when it is not a 'full blown' acute attack requiring hospitalization?

Ooh, excellent! These sound really good and I'll certainly be getting some for the girls to try (although not the mackerel one). That is, if I can get them from either our local pet shop or Pets At Home.

Ooh thanks for posting that I'll keep an eye out for those - hope they stock them in my local. We are always after more variety!
