The protein content of the nuggets range does differ, as does the fat content. But none of the ranges I looked at, the analytical constituents add up to 100%. So what ingredients are there that are not listed? Wonder if it is Carbohydrates?

zahada whats with the name change? I have slowly been adding things to Gypsys diet (and I do mean slowly). She has now had some Natures Menu country hunter nuggets, Natures menu duck wings, and an egg. Today its a little chicken liver. Though I am trusting that the duck wings natures menu sell really are 7% fat! She is still getting quite a bit of veg tending to stick to sweet potato, broccoli, cauliflower and pumpkin. Now looking to get her back on a more balanced raw diet i.e need to get the bone up to 10% of diet and get offal back into the diet. Looking at the nutrition bars on the meat in Tesco looks like lamb kidney and chicken liver will fall in the below 7% fat category. I have not dismissed the NI special diet though, just a bit unsure how smelly it will be as its tripe based and I have to put food in family freezer and fridge (due to change in personal circumstances could be a few months before my freezer makes it to the family shed).

How's Gypsy doing?
I have used the NI low fat diet and don't find it particularly smelly. And my dogs' food is stored in the family freezer and I haven't noticed any smell contamination.
I am finding the Naturesmenu nuggets a very good base for Jaws' diet, because the low fat content (particularly Country Hunter) means I can start adding things like a 1/3 of a skinned chicken wing, 1 egg yolk, little bit of Nutriment's offal mix. Also been feeding small amounts of duck wings and necks, trusting Naturesmenu are under 7%. Good for boosting the bone content. Will also give a lamb kidney tonight - I store most of the food intended for dogs in freezer bags - to save space I throw away the original packaging, so couldn't check fat content, glad you mentioned it.
I will try to share my 'fat content' list with you very shortly. I have it in '.xlsx' format, so will need to figure out how to converted into something publishable on here.

Kiezebrink do a hare mix @6%, also their chicken minces are below 7%. My favourite pet shop has recently added some of Kiezebrink/Alaska products to their already excellent range of raw stuff, so I'm hoping they will be able to order some for me.

Thanks for the lists, they are great. Yes definitely blinded Thanks for the info on the NI special diet, might order some in then and see if brother or parents comment! I had missed the lamb hearts at 7.1% was wondering what source I would be able to use for heart Had not spotted the beef liver either. I am going to try one of the nature menu beef meaty chews tomorrow (8.9%) as the different item. Gypsy was always food orientated before but she is worse now! She seems ok in herself, she is playing in house with Phoebe, bombing about in play with Phoebe on the beach and barking at the post etc Still not totally happy with her poos but they are a lot better than they were. Back to vets in about a week and a half so will be able to gauge if she has gained or lost weight etc then and will be having repeat bloods. How is Jaws doing?

You is ready then? Let me begin...... My formula for calculating fat content: My dog needs 0.5kg (500g) of raw food per day which has no more than 7% of fat. So, weight wise she can have 35g of fat per day (500x7%=35). If I feed her Country Hunter nuggets at 4% - her daily fat intake in weight is 20g (500x4%=20). Therefore she could have something else, with fat content of 15g. This would take her over her normal food allowance, which wouldn’t actually matter. Or I can give her only 400g of CH nuggets, so she will get 16g (400x4%=16) of fat that day. She can have 35g, therefore I can feed something else as long as the fat content is not over 19g. NI green tripe is quoted as 10.6% = 106g per kilo, or 10.6g per 100g. So I could feed my dog 400g of CH nuggets = 16g of fat and 100g NI tripe = 10.6 of fat Total fat 26.6 g for that day, still within the 7% cap. So every day, I could give her 100g of the foods with higher % of fat. To be on the safe side I would not give her anything with fat content over 19%. Does that make sense?

Jaws is doing well. Slimmer than I'd like, especially in winter, but I guess that's the lack of fat in the diet. I could feed her larger quantities (as suggested by the vet), but I feel I would be making her digestive system work harder, processing all the extra fruit and veg (Naturesmenu) LOL.
The lamb hearts - warning - Paleoridgeraw 7.1, Naturesmenu 11. Don't know why the difference.

Yes that totally does make sense Do need to sit down and work a few things out Mine ranges in amount I feed usually between 600g and 725g but at the moment she is on 600g.

Has your vet told you how low in fat Gypsy's diet should be. I feel, at least I have some targets to work to.
