He was sick in the car on the way to AHT (doesn't get car sick). Told them and they said it may just be because he has been used to lots of little meals and hasn't eaten this morning... it didn't look bike like, but may been been coloured by the pro kolin (TMI lol). Left him with them anyway and they said will see how he goes and try with perhaps no sedation. Now what to do in Newmarket for four hours... 1hr15 each way so not worth going home!

Try not to worry barley - he's in good hands! I'm sure they wouldn't go ahead if they didn't think it was for the best and at least now it will be done and out of the way.

But 'worry' is my default setting! He was sick in the car on the way to AHT (doesn't get car sick). Bugger if I had of known we could have met up Emma sorry x Hope all goes well for Alfie x Ah that would have been lovely! Having a cuppa in the AHT coffee shop at the moment, they called earlier and said he will be ready at 12.30 so not too much longer

Eye procedure went really well no more sickness since the episode in the car this morning, has kept two small meals down. Other end is back to dire!! But sedatives/GA can affect him like that anyway.

Morning barley how is Alfie ? Take it you had a bad night , see you were on here Around 3am this morning Lol yes I was! It wasn't a bad night as such, he seems ok, but was just constantly needing to go out to the toilet. And it's times like this I curse living in a flat! He stopped about 7am this morning and we've both been asleep until about half hour ago so that's not so bad. He hasn't been sick anymore which the vet said is the real concern. Just got to keep him well hydrated and see how he goes. He loves the Royal Canin electrolyte sachets so that's great as I can get lots of that into him - likes it so much I can't just leave the bowl down as he'll guzzle it until it's all gone! Plain water down all the time of course, and then I am giving him sips of the electrolytes every so often and using it to soak his kibble in too. I rang VetsNow at 2am purely to see if I could drive down and get some ProKolin as our tube had finished and I didn't get more as, at the time, his tum seemed OK. Bearing in mind VetsNow gave us some last weekend and it'd be on his notes... they said wouldn't sell me any without seeing the dog! So basically wanted £159 consult to sell me a £15 product. Really cross as it's not even prescription, you can get it anywhere online but I needed it there and then! Needless to say Alfie had to go without and I'm getting some from the PAH vet today. Thought that was naughty of them. Anyway, all in all, still doing well though

Alfie has been ok tummy wise for a few days now, no sickness or direahea however he has seemed in pain Tramadol does work but he's only allowed three doses per day and it wears off before next one is due. We went back to the vets this morning and he's given me Metacam too and also a Vetergesic injection that he said I can give him it if gets really bad in the middle of the night or something. He is going in on Thursday for a scan to make sure nothing else is going on, but the vet said blood tests point to all being ok. He had the pancreatitis test repeated today and results will be back tomorrow - 659 last time so hopefully it's come down. I am just worried that we are 15 days in now and stuff I've read points towards an attack lasted between 5-7 :/

Some dogs with acute pancreatitis can recover quickly and others develop a more chronic and mild form of pancreatitis. It could just be a case of tweaking the diet. Tramadol is a good painkiller but you're right the effects don't last long. Its been a very stressful two weeks for you! But no sickness or diarrhea is really good so fingers crossed for the pancreas results.

Thank you gypsy. I've googled far too much and scared myself stupid over pancreatic cancer!! So definitely bed time for me. Will give him his supper & Tramadol now and hopefully he'll have a restful night.

If he had something as serious as pancreatic cancer (which is very rare in dogs!) he probably wouldn't have been stable enough for an anaesthetic.
