Fingers crossed they got enough by 5 pm lotsofcats . I suspect we won't hear much more today as I get the impression you only post from work. I had a tablet for Christmas so can now post in the evenings too!

I managed to croak enough to speak to the vets when I phoned back and I went to collect her at 5pm. The cost was only £74+ . I was told to phone for the results on Friday. When I got home and looked at my receipt I realised that the vet had only done the one test, the extraction of urine through a needle. I was under the impression they were going to do the x-ray on her bladder after injecting a dye.....perhaps they wanted to know the results first. Bramble came home and ate 2 pouches of food and then spent all evening on my daughter's bed being pampered. I think Bramble has forgiven me.

That's a bit disappointing, but I hope the test they did do can give a more conclusive result on what is wrong with poor Bramble.

As cazypops said its a shame they couldn't do everything they said they would do but maybe the time it took to get the urine sample ate into the time it would need for the dye & the x-ray, especially if she had to have a general anaesthetic for the x-ray which she may not have needed for the sample (not sure about that), which would need recovery time as well.
Hopefully you'll get an explanation soon.

The vet phoned me on Friday evening with Bramble's results of her test. He said there's no sign of an infection but there is still blood present in her urine so they now want her to have the next test on her bladder which entails having dye injected into the bladder and a x-ray to look at the shadow part that could be seen on the scan. She goes in on Thursday to have this done. Every time I speak to this vet he asks me if I can still see blood in her urine - he is driving me mad, I have never been able to see any blood, even in the urine sample in the test pot!, so how can I see it in the litter tray? Bramble will hate me.
I will have to think up a new way of getting her in the cat carrier - she remembers that I hid it in the kitchen under a blanket last time and gets very jumpy when I carry her through the kitchen to go outside to the cat pen.

Oh poor you & Bramble, lotsofcatsI know that need to find a way to get a cat in the carrier, luckily there's not too many places for a cat to hide so long as we shut a couple of doors before we try. It works well with 2 of us. One gets the carrier from where we hid it - in a spare room that's always got its door closed - and the other gets the cat! It can be done with just one but could involve a bit more of following a cat around as the cat in question runs past you! Hope all goes well for you both on Thursday.

They always know when we are about to take them for a visit to the vet, recognising all the signs, and probably detecting our anxiety. They are far too clever for their own good.Hope everything turns out well.

We always have to lock the cat flap and put a heavy metal tool box in front of it before we could get Chilli - she would scarper the second she saw the carrier And Lily's not much braver either!!! Nina has only been in it once when I picked her up and in one swift movement plonked her into the basket...she didn't have time to escape Going to sort out her microchip tomorrow so we shall see how easy it is THIS time
