Yes definitely She seems happy this morning - demolished a whole plate of food and had a half-slice of buttery toast and is now in her chair washing herself

That is good. She doesn't feel bad when she is washing herself.

Sad to report our brave wee beautiful girl went to Rainbow Bridge at 11.50am today
Couple of tumours burst last night and whilst she didn't seem to be in any pain I think t was just a matter of time and our wonderful vet agreed so we let her slip away before life became TOO painful which vet reckoned WOULD have been in the next day or two We are both absolutely devastated as you can imagine and wracked with guilt that we couldn't save her and also that she knew so much neglect and cruelty before coming to us.
RIP darling girl ~ Mummy & Daddy love you SO much xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ooooo @gillykat BIG {{{HUGS}}} so sorry to read this even thou we knew it would happen soon. She has gone to the bridge one happy puss, you gave her so much love these past few months R.I.P Darling Hattie What with you and Chantel I hope the old superstician of everything in 3's doesn't happen As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played, I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade. I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide! And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be! My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night. 'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be, We are still connected by a cord no eye can see. So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart

So, so sad to read that Hattie has gone. She was so blessed to have you and Neil looking after her in her time left to her and I know she has brought you both such joy. You shouldn't feel guilty that you couldn't save her - nothing could. Feel proud of yourselves for being such lovely people to take on poor neglected cats and making them feel loved and wanted. Thinking of you.
RIP Hattie xxx

I'm so sorry @gillykat, I'm writing this with tears in my eye.
You did everything possible, and gave her the best few months of her life. You and Neil should feel proud of yourselves.
RIP dear Hattie.

Oh @gillykat I'm so sorry it was finally time for Hattie to pass to Rainbow Bridge.
Whatever you feel please don't feel guilty for not saving her, there was nothing more you could do & you should feel proud for the love & care you gave her in her last months which will have made her feel so much happier & comforted after the way she had been treated in her past (which is not something you had any control over - never mind how pleased she would have felt knowing what you would wish to do to those who caused it!!!!!!).
she was obviously still happy if she was poking you for food despite burst tumours & you made that last decision of love & kindness that made sure she didn't get any further pain for which she will thank you.
Take care & let Chilli & Lilly give you & Neil the comfort that they will give as well as need from you.
RIP Hattie, one lucky cat to have spent her last months with you.
