Pets I own: Rosie a Maine Coon, Red and Cream.Aged 4 year in (May2014), a BIG quiet girl, and TiaMaria a Black Russian years on (Nov 2013) who is amazing fun.
Sadly Tia was killed in July 2014 by a car.
My son has Parkinsons and lives 2 miles from me. I got him RILEY a black stray 2year old in February 2014, but from a rescue 14 months ago.Very involved with him !
Pebbles age unknown, thrown out of a car, went to my daughter. Also involved with him ! ALL are adorable and so different.
Now (OCT 2014) have a kitten called Lilyana. She looks like her Mum, a Russian Blue. Her Dad is a Rag Doll. She was born on 24/07/2014....the day my darling Tia was killed on the road.
This was meant to be and she is helping me grieve for Tia. Lilyana is delightful.Rosie is now taking to her

Poor, poor little girl. I took one look at her and wanted her. If it was possible I'd have reached through the screen, picked her up and loved her back to health. Unfortunately my kitten would annoy her and cat would not welcome her. My heart would have. I hope she finds a quiet home where she can be spoiled and loved and feel very, very safe. Bless you for looking after her.

Thank you tiarosie lol little odd typing that as the cat is named Tia-Rose Update for everyone. She is doing well. Her wounds are looking fantastic but shes still looking so sad within herself even though she is coming for cuddles. Have set up an amazon wishlist with different things in it and have had a few people buy food and litter through that. Had 3 donations made towards the vets account so there is around £60 sitting for any further treatment she may need. May possibly have another foster coming in. Mother cat and her 2 kittens were spotted. Mother is extremely thin and dirty and the kittens are only around 3 weeks old. The mother cat had been living in a grate next to a very dangerous river. Sad news is we believe that one of the kittens has been swept away as the mother cat now only has one kitten and has moved further along to a storm drain I have a team heading down tonight to see how dangerous it is and if they can catch her and remaining baby safely, they will do that and get her into a vets tomorrow to be checked over. The vet we are with is fantastic. Hopefully will have some happy news about both Tia-Rose and the mummy cat and baby next time im updating. On a higher note, we did take in and re-home 3 cats over the last 3 days. The first cat, the owner was taken into a care home as she has senile dementia, her cat was being put out on the street. We had a list of pre-approved pre-vetted new homes for cats so this little one went to a lovely family who had another cat, the 2 cats are getting on great The second is a small ginger and white boy whos owners had to leave the country that night and plans for the cat to go to a rescue centre had fallen through. We took the cat in and again one of our pre-approved homes fell for the wee guy. Purrfect home for him as she had no other pets, no children and lived next to the countryside so plenty of places for him to run and catch mice! The third wee guy, isnt in a home yet, but is being taken on by another rescue more loca to where he is. His owner passed away 4 years ago and at the time the son of the owner just moved out and left him behind. Poor soul is about 12 years old, so we have gotten him in and have a number of homes lined up who are hoping to re-home. So hopefully good news for him

You have been busy pixiepops - nice to know you were able to find homes for most of them & sad they needed to have new homes. Glad to hear Tia-Rosie is improving & hope you were able to get the mother & kitten safe.

The elderly boy is now in a rescue yay The rescue came and took him in today Good news is, there is a lady having a home visit to possibly re-home him She had spotted the appeal on our website and gave us a call, so we put her in touch with the rescue who helped us out by taking him in. So wont be long till that wee guy is off to a new home. In regards to mummy and baby. Nothing so far. There is a team going down tomorrow morning nice and early to try and get baby cat. They will use baby cat to hopefully catch the mother. They have been well fed today as volunteers have been down throughout the day to leave food and see if they could see her. There were meows coming from a large overgrown area of bushes so we believe she may be living in there with her baby.

We have had bad news in regards to Tia-Rose Tia-Rose was at the vets again this morning for a check up. We have been told that the little soul was caught again before she came into our care so is pregnant. We have her booked in for her spay and chipping on Wednesday as we cannot allow her to go full term with this pregnancy as it could be fatal to Tia-Rose. It was a hard decision and one I will most definitely feel guilty about for the rest of my life but I cant take the chance. We are close to catching mummy and babies, we have volunteers who go down throughout the day and leave food for them and it is being eaten so we know they are fine for now foodwise. Just trying to catch them is the difficult part. Here is Tia-Rose while she was at the vets

Awww poor Tia but shes lucky to have you to look out for her. You are doing the right thing please dont be too hard on yourself. It you dont do this and as you say can be fatal, then better to have this to feel guilty about rather than the loss of her life. Hope I am making sense here x

That look is the spit of Penny when she's been to the vets!
Poor Tia, I presume that the person who found her giving birth 10 weeks before you got her although she found homes for the kittens let Tia-Rose out in the mean time. Just goes to show how easy it is for cats to have kitens & the cat popuation to increase dramatically. Just as well you took her to the vets now.
Don't beat yourself up about the spay etc. it is the best thing for Tia.

ebony I certainly will scallywag yes you are making sense. I was told to follow my heart but I cant because my heart is saying dont do it and my head is weighing out the pros and cons and being rational. Heartbreaking decision to make but it really is the best option for Tia-Rose

The lady told us she had not let Tia out of her home in that time, but clearly did as she is pregnant. Spay and chip is being done Wednesday so will update on how she is doing later that day or following morning (depends on whether the vet wants to keep her over night for observation).
