At the moment I give Amber coconut oil (a few times a week) and a herbs thing (again, a few times a week) If I went full DIY raw I'd look into other supplements too.

his first month will be pre-prepared stuff just to settle him onto it then after that he will be getting DIY as it will be cheaper, still deciding what supplements would be best for him, deffinitly going for coconut oil and joint supplements as he needs them but he might need stronger ones from the vet soon as he is getting worse.

Pepper's really funny about the egg. Last week, I had to feed them inside as we were going out for a meal so I cracked their eggs and let it go over the rest of the food, but Pepper wouldn't touch the bit that had been mixed with the egg although she ate the egg yolk happily!

Tonight we had: Does anyone else feed kidney? I don't see it mentioned much, but assume it's fine to be fed like liver etc.? From my book worming yes Kidneys should be part of the offal options. I have not tried kidneys yet. I have been searching as I had something as to what offal offers what but cant find it, will keep looking!!

barley did not like his egg at first if it was on its own but i mixed it with all the rest of his food and ate all of it, when he first had an egg on its own i had to cook it first as he would not touch it, but he did chew the shell and left bits of shell all round his bowl

caz2golden - I'm going to try Ellie with kidney again tomorrow. I couldn't remember how much I'd put in her bowl, so I'm not sure if she ate any or not. She did try chewing a bit when Pepper came back out, but she just chewed and chewed and then spat it out again. Also, thanks for the link!

Amber's always liked egg, but she's had them since a puppy, because we have our own hens. Amber spits things out if she doesn't like them too. Some dog treats she hates! I wonder what she'll think of offal!

barley loved his offal as it was liver and smelt very strong and he devoured it, have not tried any other offal yet, but will when we switch over fully.

Lucky Amber! Hopefully she'll love offal! Wow, Caz, I didn't expect the lamb breast to be so bony! It certainly looks like Gypsy was enjoying it!

It looked as if it had a line of thin ribs and then a reasonable hunk of attached meat. Here's a couple more pictures of my girl

weight they were between 200 and 300 grams I think!! Length wise they were between 6-12 inches (nearer the 12 I guess - trying to guersstimate vs a long and short ruler, lol). They were probably getting on for a max thickness of 1cm at a guess!!
