Why, do they just refuse to eat raw, sarahhound?? Do you feed kibble, tinned, wet, other, right now? They just don't like it! I tried starving them to try and get them to eat it, but Katy can't afford to lose anymore weight or I'll get locked up :/ Just now they eat Skinners with cooked mince, chopped lambs hearts, pasta, and veggies.

If the dogs enjoy it, it is a healthy diet, and your happy enough with it then that's a big positive. I wouldn't starve them, if they won't eat it, then that is how it will be - as long as they have a healthy diet and are in good shape, health, happiness and fitness.

Tonight's tea: Working Dog Chicken mince (Natural Instinct), sardines in tomato sauce along with Billy No Mates, Resist! and Pepper had Yumega Plus (which I realised I probably shouldn't have added too late). I have some manuka honey in the cupboard to give them occasionally too. Can this be added to their meals on a night or is it better given with a mashed banana or something on a morning? If I gave a banana and some honey on a morning, would I take this from their daily food allowance? Another question I've just thought of - I know it's recommended to feed 2-3% of a dog's bodyweight daily. Is it better to stick to one or the other or is it okay to feed anything in between 2-3%? I know a lot of you raw feeders don't stick religiously to weights etc. but do you have guidelines of how much you would consider to be too much for your dog? (I know that will differ between dogs too, don't worry!)

More chicken legs today!! This is this evenings meal, no pictures of morning feed. Chicken leg, chicken liver and an egg (I am hand feeding the leg to one of the mutts, hence on chopping board!)

Tonight's tea here was: Half a chicken each, the leftover chicken NI and an egg! Despite having had the chicken breast quarters a couple of weeks ago, I had to hold onto the leg of each chicken (after having carved it up a bit so they could smell the meat) for the dogs to chew it first. Then they were happy to eat it on their own.

Tonight we had: One pork rib, some beef NI mince and some ox kidney. Pepper ate the whole lot really quickly, including the kidney, which I was half expecting her to leave as she's never had it before. Ellie, on the other hand, did exactly as I expected and spat most of the kidney out and left it on the floor (Pepper hoovered it up though). Does anyone else feed kidney? I don't see it mentioned much, but assume it's fine to be fed like liver etc.?

Amber loves chicken too, especially legs, and she had the NI Chicken tonight. Do your two eat the eggshell? Amber won't touch it! I am going to introduce some offall to her in the next few weeks.

Both of mine are still getting the hang of chewing the whole legs! I'm sure they do enjoy it though, lol. They've mostly had NI chicken, but I've been giving them the other varieties every now and again too Ellie eats the shell, but Pepper won't - not even if I crush it up! Ellie normally eats both of them lol. This was the first offal my two have had as I wasn't sure how they'd take to it. I need to give them more though I think.

Amber is quite good actually with eating the legs - she lifts them out the bowl, drops them on the ground, to see if there's anything else in the bowl, and then crunches & munches her chicken legs! I am going to try squishing up her egg shell into her bowl & see if that works. Probably not, knowing Amber, but worth a try anyway! I'm not sure when would be OK to begin with the offal, I think it's supposed to be a few weeks. So I'll give her a little longer! I think I'm going to feed an offal meal a week or something, instead of doing a certain amount at each meal.

I know this was against what most raw feeders said but i put offal in barley raw everyday from the go with no problems,he had liver, but when he fully switches over he will have two offal meals a week, barley had his egg crushed up and mixed with his meat and veg mush and he did not notice, have not tried him on a whole egg yet, cant wait till we switch over, it will be in about 250 days time , yes it is a long time, unless we can get rid of some of his kibble as he has a back load.

Amber loves the actual egg - she chooses it first, before she touches any of her meat But doesn't like the shell! We won some JWB for Amber a while ago (because her photo got in their calendar) she hated it, would not even sniff it, so we sold it to a man with Dalmations. I was impatient to get her on raw, but we had to use up all her Applaws first because she had an open bag. She also doesn't like the herb stuff I got, so am going to have to disguise it very carefully in her mushy mix!
