Well yesterday I received an email saying I had won a competition in a dog magazine, and that my prize was to receive a sample box of Natural Instinct Working Salmon dog food!
I got a further email saying Natural Instinct would get in touch with me personally to organise the delivery. Very exiting!
I am thinking of slowly introducing the food into Earl's diet and then taking it back out again once the sample box is running out.
Do people think this is the best way to go about this? Anyone feed this food?

natural instinct is raw food, not wet food

I'm not an expert. not by a long way but I would think very slowly introducing it - just a little more each feeding time and a little less dry would do the trick. When you're about half-way through the sample slowly start cutting back the new food and putting in a little more dry!

Natural Instinct is a commercial raw food, so it's basically the raw diet already boxed and made up for you Do you know the weight of the box they're sending you? Is it just one 1kg box of their food or several of them in another box? Lol I'd probably just add a TEENY bit to his dinner every day (when dogs start out on raw it usually upsets their tummy a bit while intestinal bacteria adjust to the change) but he might not like it. If he DOES like it, I'd probably have some fun with it and hide bits in the garden and get him to sniff them out

Maybe if he likes it you could persuade your parents to do a swap Well my mum thinks raw is smelly and messy so... With these tubs, you just have to stick dog bowl on some scales, plop the right weight of NI in using a fork, mash it up a tiny bit and you're done! It doesn't smell strong at all, and you get used to it. You never know

my parents were not fussed about barley going raw or not, the only condition was that we have to get rid of all his kibble first, the only thing dad was slightly concerned about was freezer space but at the moment barley has half of the outside freezer to himself as it is so no difference will be made

Earl has an almighty pack of CSJ left. It will take him many MANY months or longer to get through that.

barley has got 4 15kg bags left to eat and one 15kg bag lasts him 50 days, 50 x 4 = 200 plus lots more smaller bags and samples to eat through

Ours love the Natural Instinct, although we haven't tried the Salmon one yet! I'm sure Earl will love it too My parents took some convincing but they don't mind now so long as I feed them in the garden so they are not dragging meat all over the carpets!

They only just re- brought out the salmon one because of issues with preserving it. Finn really loves it, which is great because it's so hard to make him eat his food! We had a cracked tub recently, let NI know....and they sent us 12kg of chicken one for free! (pray for a cracked tub)
