He seems fine 😻he’s had some wet food with his pain relief no problem and seems to have had a good night. He’s very clingy and Elsa keeps growling at him when he walks past - she did the same last time so wondering if she can smell like a clinical smell on him 😂x

He’s home but very groggy 😴he has had one extraction with stitches and is dosed up with morphine. They have given me loxicom for pain relief. The bloods were all good £620.00 to be honest I thought it would be going on for £700 with the quote they gave me this morning. So it does sound about right if you paid that @loysofcats it’s just gone up 🙈I know I paid around £290 last year but he didn’t have an x-ray / blood test . He goes back next Tuesday. Glad that Freddy's ok and manging to eat. I couldn't reply on my mobile last night as it won't let me on the forum (same on weekend too). Elsa can smell the vets on him. My cats are funny when one of the other's has had something done in the vets. Kiba-Khan was really clingy for days.

And looks better today 😊I think he was so doped up on pain relief- he scared me a bit last night he was lying on the kitchen floor panting 😿and his pads on his feet was very red and sweaty 🥵 hubby said it would be all the drugs 🙈 He’s not been panting today he’s just been sleeping 💤

Vets visits can be stressful on all pets and owners but cats bounce back fast once they are back home

Freddy is doing fine thanks 🙏 he gave me a real scare though when we brought him home 😿he was lying on the kitchen floor panting and his pads were really red and sweaty 😿i’v never seen a cat panting before but he was given a lot of pain relief 🥲 He’s not had a poop yet so I’m thinking it might be the pain relief morphine amongst many more .
I’m not too impressed with the vet to be honest because they extracted a tooth 🦷 because they said his gum was reseeding but his tooth was healthy 😿it might be me but I just feel it was unnecessary to put him through such a procedure especially the general anaesthetic but nothing I can really do about it now thankfully he’s doing ok other than struggling with the heat - we will see what happens when we take him back friday.
I had a look at my insurance for Freddy because I thought with it being an issue with his gums not his teeth they might pay out a little bit but this is what is stated in the superior level of cover - see below ( this is an email that I received)
His cover runs out July and I’m betting it will go up 🙈
We don’t cover any dental or gum treatments or conditions, including epulis. This includes the cost of any tests that lead to a dental or gum problem being diagnosed. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Kind Regards,

I think that's bad to take out a healthy tooth. Insurance companies don't pay out on teeth and gums. When Kai Ruki was about 2 he had a problem with his jaw and had to have all of his teeth out apart from his front fangs. The insurance refused to pay out so I got my vet to phone them to explain it was due to his jaw causing him to need the extractions.

Freddy has been sick this morning after his breakfast 😿but he has been doing lots of washing - he doesn’t like the bold patch on his front leg where they shaved him to put in the drip 😿I think a lot of it is the heat though and also he normally has a slow feeding dish because he gobbles his food down so quickly 🙈and can make himself sick.
I have not been giving Freddy his slow feeder dish because I didn’t want him to struggle trying to get to the food and hurting his mouth. He goes back for his check up tomorrow afternoon.
I feel a bit guilty that I have put him through such a procedure but I was just going on the advice when we saw the nurse for his 6 month check up 😿
I was wondering if some of the members have cat insurance and if so which company are you with? I’m with Animal Friends - Freddy is covered for the superior policy - I have an annual condition limit £2,00.it’s up for renewal on the 17th July.
My Annual premium for last year was £127.92 I pay £10.66 a month but I’m expecting it to go up again.

To be honest chantel, I take what my veterinary nurse says about the condition of my cats' teeth with a pinch of salt, reason being, when I took Blackberry and Willow for their check-up and boosters in July 2019 the nurse said they both would need a dental. I just looked at her because I used to show Blackberry and she had a dental (on recommendation of vet at show) in January 2019, so there was no way she needed one again in July. When I went to the vets with them a few weeks ago the vet said then about a bit of plaque and recommended a dental, she didn't say it was essential. Obviously if they had a problem eating and if the problem gets any worse I would let them have a dental. With reference to the insurance, I'm with Animal Friends. I have the same policy for Blackberry, Willow and Kali as you have for Freddy, but mine are £10.89 each. Toffee's went up in April from £8+ to £12.60 and that is only a Super Policy with £1,000 limit per condition!, so I think you can expect a substantial increase. Hope you're feeling a bit better.

I have only walked to the shops which is about a 10 minute walk and I had a terrible coughing attack and was really sob 🙈i’v not even been in the garden today😢 Well I’m presuming i will hear something from Animal Friends soon his insurance will be coming up for renewal soon. Well I certainly won’t be putting Freddy Through this again unless it is having a real bad affect on his health/ pain / unable to eat / etc . I will go on my own judgement x

My policies for Blackberry, Willow and Kali are due next month chantel and I've just had the dreaded email off Animal Friends. Up from £10.89 to £18.73 a month! That's a big jump. I'll either go down to the Super Policy the same as Toffee's or I'll cancel them. £23.52 extra per month is a lot. I've started saving money for vets bills each month.

That is quite a significant jump in price lotsofcats 🙈especially when you have more than one cat to insure 😿 I wouldn’t worry too much but we still have Riley and Elsa to insure 🙈 Riley was insured with petplan But once we got Elsa we couldn’t afford it 🙈so we insured them with Animal Friends Riley’s is £48.00 it jumped up in price last year when he was 9 so we are expecting a big jump now he is 10 when it is up for renewal. Elsa’s is £38.00
Guinea pigs are classed as exotic pets and are quite pricey to insure 🐹🐹 so I put money away every month for them.

I told them he had lost weight and was no longer in the large dog group and it went down to £24.15 a month for the Superior cover. I looked on other sites and they are all really expensive. When I first joined Animal Friends, they used to do pets in groups of 3 to make it cheaper, but they stopped that a couple of years ago. I have never claimed for Kobi, Kali or Willow. Is Freddy feeling better? And you? How's your chest today?

I’m not feeling great lotsofcats I’m still really struggling with my chest 🙈just going outside makes my throat feel really tight and I just have a coughing attack. We have just got back from the vets with Freddy and I’m just so wheezing- I dropped a sputum sample off at the doctors yesterday and I’m going for bloods tomorrow morning I should be back at work on Friday . Well took Freddy back to the vets for a check up this afternoon bless him he has been really clingy with me this morning - the nurse had a look at his gum and she said that it looked very red and sore 😿took his temp which was ok but asked if she could take him through to the vet 😷he was proper shaking . When she brought him back she said it looks like he has caught one of the stitches probably whilst eating although I have only been giving him wet food. She showed me his mouth and it was all bloody where the stitch had come out but she said that it would be really difficult to stitch it again but just keep an eye on it. She said he didn’t need antibiotics at the moment but to carry on giving him the loxicom- they only gave me the smallest of bottles after his surgery so they gave me another bottle £34.00.🙈 He goes back next Tuesday for another check up unless we are worried about anything then we will give them a ring. He isn’t very happy bless him at the moment.😿
