Thanks both The best I was ever hoping for was for numbers to stay steady or only rise a tiny bit, but to have them actually decreasing is brilliant

I really feel bad for him and my best wishes are with him. I have seen many dogs struggling with their diseases and it makes me really sad.

Over six months in now His blood tests back on 21st July had declined a little, I've been taking him every six weeks or so, so they'll due again soon. But, in typical Alfie fashion, he's still carrying on regardless so I'm trying not to get too hung up on what results say. He's still loving his home cooked food. I've got in the habit of doing it every Sunday and it's become second nature. We do have a variety of various prescription renal tins that we were given, and we use these for a change. Everything says prescription renal food is bland and horrid - but of course Alfie disagrees, so that's a special treat for him. No kibble at all now, just a few treat biscuits (Tribal apple, mint & ginger and Lily's Kitchen cheese & apple). He gets enough veg & rice to give a raw feeder palpitations - and he still gets chicken thigh, egg & salmon as his protein. I have tried swapping for chicken for beef mince but 150g of beef mince is SO little compared to 150g of chicken thigh, so we tend to stick with chicken as what he's allowed works out to be a decent amount He always gets white rice, sweet potato, fresh parsley, seaweed and green beans. I read that KD dogs are prone to stomach ulcers and cabbage is good at preventing them, so he now gets half a white cabbage added to the mix now too. I sometimes add carrots for a bit of variety. Looking forward to fresh pumpkin being available in the shops again soon as want to try him with that. We still stick the the diet the nutritionist gave us, but just tweak it a little to make it a little different. He gets a pro/pre-biotic added to each meal, along with some salmon oil (and all his weekly supplements from the nutritionist are added to the batch). He gets yoghurt, blueberries and banana, with a teaspoon of slippery elm powder, at bedtime He won't drink water. At all. Ever! I think he is just getting so much moisture from his food, but of course hydration is key with KD so he drinks mainly just coconut water these days No complaints ( EDIT - meant to be a video! I can't see it? Not sure if anyone else can?!) www.facebook.com/emma.went.75/videos/853316901492230/

It does not give me palpitations, do I therefore count as a raw feeder? I think you are highly dedicated and obviously doing an excellent job at getting Alfies diet right.

Aww not sure why It was just of Alfie nomming anyway! It does not give me palpitations, do I therefore count as a raw feeder? I think you are highly dedicated and obviously doing an excellent job at getting Alfies diet right. I've dipped my toe into the Raw feeding rebels page on facebook a few times, just out of pure curiosity. I think some of the people there would hang, draw and quarter me Was it a probiotic/digestive supplement that you were after for one of your girls at one point? I'm using Oropharma Opti-Digest from Zooplus. Early days, but definitely doing a good job of firming him up

Thanks, will look into it, not one I have heard of before. At the moment I can not decide if I should add one or not. I occasionally am dropping a yudigest into their bowls (the ones I got in a comp win a while back).
