scallywag, I may cut the odd flower from the rose to put in a vase, but it's bloomed every year since we planted it as has the lilac so this year is not so special.

It's 5 years yesterday (29th March) that we said goodbye to our lovely Penny. Despite her highness' grumpiness, sharp claws & gummy but effective bite (a fair number of her teeth were missing when we got her in March 2008, aged 8 years 11 months but her gums were hard & she knew how to use them!!!) she was never vicious except when she was pilled or having her claws clipped. The latter was understandable as what creature would want their best weapon blunted! Sorry Penny but your arthritis (I won't mention age!) meant you needed a bit of help stopping them causing you problems) Everything in your garden is growing well, I'm sorry to say that includes the weeds but Osiris is appreciating the extra grass to nibble on!! I will get to grips with those weeds when it gets less windy & wet. RIP Penny missed & definitely not forgotten

I can't believe another year has passed and that yesterday (29th March) was 6 years since Penny was helped to Rainbow Bridge. She may have been a small cat but she had a big personality and is sorely missed. She was definitely the boss and guarded her home against all comers including next door's dog whose size was about half as much again as her!
RIP Penny Our loving, sometimes grumpy, tuxedo cat who will always be in our hearts & memories

Next door's dog might not have missed her but she is still sorely missed by you tonib. Remember her always. I love the pic of her in the March competition.

It's been 7 years today, Penny, since you went to Rainbow Bridge. You were joined last year by Roman and I'm sure you made him welcome & showed him the ropes as well as discussing your various illnesses & treatments in common even though you'll now be feeling young & healthy again. I hope you both don't mind but, thanks to both of you, I've felt it possible to take on 2 new boys, from the rescue you came from, who happen to be a tuxedo and a ginger, this time the tuxedo is the bigger of the 2 Ok you might have been small in stature but you were big in bravery & courage. After all at 16 you were still catching mice (thank you) and started going through the banisters to stand on the top on the kitchen door causing us both to have our hearts in our mouth as it moved. You always made it safely back though, the daredevil that you were! You are sorely missed and can never be replaced in my heart just a bit of extra space needed for these 2 boys. I really think you'd have enjoyed bossing them around and I like to think that you had an influence on me looking at the rescue's website that day. RIP Penny one gorgeous shiny black coated tuxedo cat who is & always will be in our hearts & memories

Aw @toni, what a lovely posting, it brought tears to my eyes. Penny and Roman will know all about the new boys and will be tickled pink that they are a tuxedo and a ginger. RIP gorgeous Penny and Roman.
