Animals I love: Cats
Pets I own: Have always had cats as far as I can remember. Currently the owners of a Tabby kitten called "Ringo". He was born Weds 29/04/2015 & we got him Thursday 18/06/2015. He's just over 3 months old at time of writing. He is light grey with black Tiger stripes & he has black rings around his tail & back legs, hence the name "Ringo". Nothing to do at all about The Beatles. Now he has started to develop a beigey colour in his coat, & in some photos & different light, for some reason seems to have a slight orangey/ginger colour.
He's a right character, always friendly & loving & happy to see us, always following us around the house, always charging around & playing with his toys & stalking anything that moves, & then when he gets tired, jumps up for a fuss. Couldn't ask for a better cat. He's perrrfect.

Glad you were able to get some clip on bowls they'll really make a space & safety/cleanliness difference to him & you. Don't forget to cancel your Prime subscription J1M before the end of the month otherwise they'll charge your card promptly (assuming that you do want to cancel) Ringo's looking really good in that photo, quite perky

Yes that happened to me. I forgot to cancel and I got charged Β£50, but give them there due they returned my money as they give you an extra cooling off period. Ringo's looking as lovely as ever, and seems to be so relaxed with his cage now.

Yes, Amazon Prime got me for Β£79 a couple of years ago (silly Gilly didn't read the small print - I'd thought free next-day delivery was a special offer or promotion they were doing! ) but I got straight back in touch and got a full refund. Make a note on your calendar and cancel it next week Lovely boy is looking a lot more relaxed in his crate

My boy Dylan was on metacam for about 3 weeks a few years ago after he had a fight with a rat and had a chunk ripped out of his leg, so don't worry too much about Ringo being on metacam for several weeks <3
Don't get me started on amazon prime ......... they got me a few years ago and personally I'll never go back to using amazon prime ....... (like @gillykat said they do charge a lot for it - you're better off just paying the postage for the items you want to buy)

I must admit I do have Amazon Prime - it was really useful for free fast delivery & I do buy quite a few things from Amazon but I started it before it went up in price when they merged their video streaming offering. I've kept it going but not sure I'll continue after Xmas (I'm always a late shopper & also have 2 family birthdays in December!) Sorry off topic

When I was working full time I DID buy a lot of books and pet stuff from Amazon because it was cheaper and I had more choice (pet shop in Alnwick is rubbish and the staff are revolting bigots who know naff all about animals!) I loved being able to order stuff and have it the next day which is what Prime gives you and when I first signed up for Prime I didn't realise you got the first month free I assumed it was a special offer or promotion they were doing. Nowadays I don't get so much (working part time and not needing huge bags of cat litter etc) so only occasionally browse on Amazon for any particular books I'm after and just pay the postage

Hows Ringo doing today any more lovely photo's Got up this morning to find Ringo wide eyed & pleased to see us as usual but at last, no mess. His bowls were still hooked on the bars with all their contents still in place, definitely worth getting. When I got home from work tonight I asked Cheryl how he's been & unfortunately has spent most of the day in his crate/cage as he just doesn't want to lay still. He wants to always get up & investigate things like he's always been free to do before his accident. I just wish he could understand why we need him to lay down & not play. After his tea, again he was still wanting to be active so he had to go back in his cage. When he finally decided to lay down, I tried to call him to look at the camera but he wouldn't. A bit of success at last. While writing this, I thought I'd try Ringo out again & after a bit of stroking & making a fuss of him, he finally laid down on the old office chair we have. I lifted him on to the sofa & tried to get him to lay down but no. I gently put him on the floor but he just wanted to go to where he wanted to. I thought that as he likes the old office chair I'll try that. Success. He sat down, had a wash & then laid down & went to sleep. It'll be so nice when this is all over & we can give him his toys back & put his tree back up. I've always wondered why they call it a tree instead of a tower. The only thing that resembles a tree is the wood it's made from. He loves his tree, especially the top platforms.

Its difficult, I know, having to crate them for their own good as we can't tell them. If Ringo is anything like our Roman, he'll forgive you quickly when he's allowed out properly & realises that he's walking properly with no pain. Oh boy does he know how to give that feline accusing look but looks really comfortable & relaxed on the office chair. He was a really cute young kitten in those photos of him in his climber. What big eyes you've got Ringo.

Cheryl had to make an appointment to take Ringo back to the vet today when I finished work. The appointment was for 6.45pm. Just before we went to bed I put fresh water & biscuits in Ringo's cage & checked his pins to find that a small nut on his pin clamp on his hip had rubbed & it would've been sore. I didn't like what I saw so this morning before I left for work, I told Cheryl to ring Toachim House where he had his op & make an appointment for after work as they don't close till 7pm. Ringo's surgeon Andrei is in Spain this week neutering cats so we saw his replacement. She had a look & said that there's nothing she can do with the pins as that would mean having to give him a general anesthetic, & undoing everything, & the resetting of everything could also maybe upset the fusing the bone has already done. She took Ringo out the back for a think & brought him back out after 10 minutes. She said it was difficult what to think of but said she put some cream on the sore bit & has put some foam around the small nut & held it in place with some more of the covering stuff they use. When I saw Andrei with some last week, it was like a roll of a sort of sticky crepe paper material. We have to keep an eye on it to make sure Ringo doesn't pull the foam out & pull at it or he'll have to have the lamp shade on. He hasn't bothered with his pins so far, so I doubt he'll bother with that either, but you never know. I just hope it works because he's got another 3 weeks roughly to go till his pins come out. Ringo was really good when we got him home about twenty to eight. He had a pouch & a drink & decided to lay down & go to sleep on Zak's lap (our youngest (19)). He's been a pain in the evening the last few days so it was nice not to have to put him in his cage. Β The main reason we haven't thrown our old office chair out is because Ringo likes it so much lol.

Aww poor Ringo, hopefully you've caught the sore in time to stop it getting any worse. Typical when Andrei is away! Hopefully the foam & tape will do the job. Ringo be a good boy & leave the pins etc. alone otherwise it will be the cone of shame for you. If you do have to use the cone J1M watch out for him being decidedly dis-oriented/wobbly until he gets used to it (if he does) He might also have a little difficulty with the clip on bowls but may cope.
