Animals I love: cats
Pets I own: Currently the owners of a Tabby kitten called "Ringo". He was born Weds 29/04/2015 & we got him Thursday 18/06/2015. He is light grey with black Tiger stripes & he has perfect black rings around his tail & back legs, hence the name "Ringo".

We saw Andrei who had a good look at the wound and Ringo's pins. He put Ringo on the floor so he could watch him walk about a bit. Andrei was happy with the way he was moving and with the wound, which is drying up nicely. We are to kep giving him the antibiotics and metacam until Monday, when Ringo goes back in overnight so he can have the pins out. Yes!!! Andrei has brought it forward from 6th November so he must be happy with his progress. Finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Also we don't have to use the lamp shade any more unless Ringo starts really licking at it. I dare say Jim will take more photos later. He takes more photos of Ringo than he does of the grandchildren lol.

Oh great news. There will be no stopping him then, so you'll have your work cut out for you in keeping him quiet,

I'll have around 100 photos on my digital camera and take them along to the shop in town to be printed out as proper photos for my various albums (I'm old fashioned that way and don't trust technology to be the only place to save my precious pics!) and around 90% will be of Lily & Chilli and the other 10% this year have been of the allotment! I'm actually taking the camera along today to get the next lot printed out! The first couple of times I got kind-of odd looks but now they know me as the Cat Lady FABULOUS news about Ringo's leg too His young bones are obviously healing quickly. Just SO pleased for you all

Animals I love: Cats
Pets I own: Have always had cats as far as I can remember. Currently the owners of a Tabby kitten called "Ringo". He was born Weds 29/04/2015 & we got him Thursday 18/06/2015. He's just over 3 months old at time of writing. He is light grey with black Tiger stripes & he has black rings around his tail & back legs, hence the name "Ringo". Nothing to do at all about The Beatles. Now he has started to develop a beigey colour in his coat, & in some photos & different light, for some reason seems to have a slight orangey/ginger colour.
He's a right character, always friendly & loving & happy to see us, always following us around the house, always charging around & playing with his toys & stalking anything that moves, & then when he gets tired, jumps up for a fuss. Couldn't ask for a better cat. He's perrrfect.

The day has finally arrived for Ringo to go back to the vet to have his pins taken out. I'm at work at the moment, but after work, we are taking Ringo back to Toachim House so Andrei can take some X-rays to make sure Ringo's leg is healed & take his pins out. He's been so good spending the last few weeks being caged.
The operation will be tomorrow & we will be picking him up after I finish work tomorrow, hopefully without his pins. We were wondering if Ringo will still be on cage rest for another week or two for his bones to fill in where the pins were, or will Ringo be allowed to roam the house again. It'll be so nice to have him back to normal.

That's great news J1M hope all goes well. I would imagine he will still need to be on a gradual exercise programme, could be wrong but once Beau was allowed exercise from his 8 week incarnation, we had to still make sure he did not climb stairs jump up on beds couches etc. I'm sure you will be sent home with a few do's and don'ts after all the bones still fusing I would imagine. Anyways like I said that's just my thoughts and I could be completely wrong, as no doubt will be pointed out to me if that's the case. So pleased for you and Ringo xx

So pleased that this day has arrived for you all at last. Ringo can slowly get back to being a normal kitten.

Oh that is great news J1M. I hope all goes well with the x-rays tonight & the pin removal tomorrow. As cage rest afterwards I'm trying to remember when camorris's Alfie had a similar operation after a much more serious injury. I do know that he needed physiotherapy & that was the only time he was out of his cage for 12 weeks. Can't remember if any of that time was after the pin was removed.

How did it go today Was Andrei happy with Ringo's progress....have the pins been taken out? Echo Scallywag...I would imagine it'll be a case of easing Ringo back into normal kitten activity levels after his weeks of cage rest. I can't remember what we did with Lily but she was confined to rest for around four/five months if I remember rightly. Perhaps Ringo will still have to go in his crate at night or if you guys are not there to supervise for the next week or two to help his leg build up strength? Either way.....keep that little tinker away from the fridge!!!!

How did it go todayΒ Was Andrei happy with Ringo's progress....have the pins been taken out? Ringo has his operation tomorrow. We had to take him in this evening because of me being at work. He will be having his X-rays first to make sure his bones have healed like they should & then hopefully have his pins out. We pick him up tomorrow evening when I finish work again. Can't wait. We both keep looking round at his cage expecting to see him lol.
