Wow again, I've missed this. Sorry. I'm hoping that Penny is on the right treatment plan for her. It sounds all very positive. How is she in herself? That's the main thing.

Thanks @cs2015, I'm going to speak to the vet about it the vet I originally saw said that in his experience cats didn't find the renal diets palatable & that customers were buying it & then finding their cats wouldn't eat it & that it wasn't cheap. However I've spoken to both Royal Canin & Hills & they both have a returns policy if the cat won't eat it so its worth getting the 500g pack, which isn't stocked by most online suppliers, but I probably could from the vet & if she doesn't like it then return it. The same applies to the wet version. As to the Pill Pockets so far Penny had 2 this morning - 1 empty & one with her new tablet in & after a bit of encouragement with both they vanished. This evening she had her pill in one & the 1/2 pill that she's already been on in the other & again they vanished. The encouragement is more a case of making sure that the pill is well wrapped so she can't smell/taste them but so far they do seem to be working (famous last words) lotsofcats they do them for cats & for dogs. Not cheap though especially if you have to give more than 1 a day. You could get a couple of small tablets in one so maybe able to reduce the number I'll use in a day! Its also cheaper if you get them from the US rather than from this country (this applies to the various Amazon sellers. I got the salmon ones from Amazon direct as this would be quicker this time but if a success will consider getting them from the sellers in the US which will take a bit longer to get here. heartpawprints Penny seems Ok in her self other than than changing from a gannet to a picky eater & losing weight, mind you she still comes running if treats are on offer to anyone!

Thank goodness Penny is fine with the Pill Pockets, that's half the battle. This morning she had 2, one with her twice a day pill & one with her aspirin (every other day). After a good sniff at both & licking they went very quickly & easily! Think I'll have to give her 4 a day with every other day one being just a pocket so she regularly gets 2 at each meal. Mind you as each packet only has 45 in we'll get through those quickly I've seen there is something else called Easy Pill Cat Putty. Might get some to try. They're chicken based whilst there are 2 varieties of Greenies , we've got the Salmon but there's Chicken as well.

It may have been a bit premature to think we'd found the solution to her meds. As per normal she's initially been happy with the method but seems to be going off it - although that could be after taking the aspirin which might have left a bitter taste. Mind you all is not yet lost. I can stick a small cat treat she likes to the pocket as its quite pliable & although she tries to get the treat off she has difficulty & takes the pocket & tablet as well. This morning she got the treat off & then ate the pocket despite having sniffed & ignored the pocket only earlier!!! She had an empty pocket & 1 with a pill in but didn't want either initially. But its still easier than trying to get them all inside her otherwise.
