There are 2 ways to add photos into a post - Using the add attachment button at the top of the post box - this will let you choose from those on your computer.
Certain criteria apply such as max. size & a limit of the number of attachments per post - it tells you what these are in the pop up window that appears when you click add attachment. Using this method the photos will appear as thumbnails (not too small) which can be clicked on to enlarge.
- To attach a file, click the + Add Files... button, and then choose a file that you would like to upload from the Browse window that pops up. Once you choose a file, you will see a progress bar for the attachment that is uploading.
- Once the attachment has been made, you can use the Insert button to have the attachment appear wherever your cursor currently is within your post.
You can add a number of files up to the limit specified, inserting as you go or choose them all & then insert them one by one. If you move the attachment pop-up around as you need to see the post text box you can type something in the text box & then insert the picture after it & then type more then add another picture & so on without having to close the pop-up or re-arrange the words & pictures afterwards. - (You can use the Delete button if you decide against adding an attachment.)
- When finished click on the Done button found at the bottom of the pop-up window and the pop-up will close & any photos you haven't inserted will appear at the very end of your post after your thread has been made.
- Using photobucket and other such services
you will need the direct url of the photo on that service (given by the share on that service) not the embed url
- use the button that looks like a picture just above the box for typing your message in
- A pop-up asking for the url will appear & you can insert the details from photobucket (or whatever)
[/b] click on the photo you want to move to the forum. Move down the page a little and look to the right of the page and you will see a few boxes with links inside. You want the URL. [/ul][/li][/ol]

That all sounds pretty straight forward, but I tried using the with the ULR code I got from PB and all I got was an empty box, so found pasting the ULR code directly into the post easier.

Hi cazpops, Scallywag had the same problem. it depends which code you get from PB. I use the Direct link, Scallywag used the IMG link, think we need to make that clear in the instructions. Not sure which every [hoto hosting service provides.
thanks that's useful feedback.

Just click the image and wait for it to open then look for this box Left click the arrowed box once and it highlits in yellow and says copied-come to the thread u want then right click and paste-hope this didn't sound condescending as it's not meant to sound that way

I do the same as tingler on Photobucket when I want to upload a photo from there. Its a much easier way than having to right click and copy and all sorts - now you can just click and paste on the forum or where ever. P.S. I would upload all my photos to PB if they didn't come out as huge when I paste them on to somewhere like here. I have tried resizing a few but its all too much of a hassle... I don't know which is best - resizing or waiting ages for them to upload here off my computer Do other people use PB more than file uploading?

The instructions below are correct but a revised more user friendly version is in this post click here There are 2 ways to add photos into a post (unfortunately at the moment option 2 is not working due to the space on the forum to hold those photos is full) ] - Using photobucket and other such services
- If the photo hosting service provides an IMG or BBCode link in their share options
Copy the share url and past it into the post at the correct point
- If it doesn't then you will need the direct url of the photo on that service (given by the share on that service)
- use the button that looks like a picture just above the box for typing your message in
- A pop-up asking for the url will appear & you can insert the details from photobucket (or wherever)
- Using the add attachment button at the top of the post box - this will let you choose from those on your computer.
Certain criteria apply such as max. size & a limit of the number of attachments per post - it tells you what these are in the pop up window that appears when you click add attachment. Using this method the photos will appear as thumbnails (not too small) which can be clicked on to enlarge.

- When finished click on the Done button found at the bottom of the pop-up window and the pop-up will close & any photos you haven't inserted will appear at the very end of your post after your thread has been made.

Toni Im still bit confused on the last paragraph about any photo's you HAVEN'T inserted. Should that be HAVE ?? scallywag No definitely haven't However that means it's not clear so I'll try & explain so someone can come up with the right wording. If you attach a number of photos but don't click on the insert button (to put them where you want in the post) for all of them then those you didn't use the insert button for will be placed at the end of your post. Does that help?

I don't use Photo Bucket and have always been able to upload email size photos no problem until today! I have tried resizing them but still not good. Does anyone know if that it is the case now that the only way to upload pics on here is through something like Photo Bucket or is it s temporary thing? :-(
