tonib no idea all I know is its 3.50am and I have just had to clean up again, poor boy, it was all in his hood, and over one of his blankets, so that saved his new bed, wish I had stuck to my first instinct and not feed him, but he had to have his metacam.

Could the mix of anasthetic, painkillers and metacam possibly be whats mking him sick? Hope hes feeling better today!

Well you would expect the vets to know if they mix smilesbetter, but he was sick for 2 days a couple weeks ago, when he was put under for test to see if cruciate had infact ruptured, and if there was something going on with his hip, and x-rays. All he has had this morning is plain rice, hes thrown a little up but not all of it. The synulox may have caused that, !

I would speak to the vets to see if they could give him different drugs so he doesn't keep being sick poor boy.
You're very sensible syringing water into him as he's not drinking and being sick.
Apart from massaging his leg, are you supposed to do any physio or encourage him to put weight on the leg?

Hi Zahada the first 3 days Its just toilet breaks, they haven't said how I can get him to put his foot down, but he is doing it every now and again. I am supposed to put ice packs on either side of the wound 3 times a day for 10 mins, this is proving difficult, I have only managed it once today Have managed the massage if you can call it that, again bit nieve here as I didn't know I had to do that else I would have asked them to show me, I am wiggling his toes and his ankle, sort of kneeding the leg right uo to his groin, and slightly sort of making him bend and straighten it. This is all so daunting, I never had to do this to Tobi Last time he was sick was noon, so far so good he has kept his Tea down, I have only done Rice today, and tonight as he is not panting and showing signs of pain he will not be given the extra pain killers, just incase it was those that made him sick 3 times thru the early hours last nightn. Does this sound ok zahada , sorry I lack confidence

Was thinking when you do add meat back in another alternative for chicken is possibly a little cooked white fish (obviously flaked and de-boned)
(something like pollack, coley or whiting as not to break the bank as cod and haddock are expensive!)
Sorry I cant help with physio thing.
