It's off to the vets this evening, I was informed he was limping on his back leg, Saturday felt really bad being away from home and hearing this, well 4 days later he still holds it up off the ground when standing, and limps when mooching around the garden strangely enough when he's expecting you to throw his ball its a case of mind over matter, and he doesn't slow down limping hoping its a muscular problem and they give him anti inflammatory injection.

Poor Beau Fingers crossed it's nothing too serious and that it's easily resolved with anti imflammatories and rest (is rest even possible for a Springer?) Keep us updated

Hope Beau's vet visit goes well & its nothing serious. Typical these things happen when you're not there to see what's happened & to deal with quickly!

Well bad news Looks like it's cruciate damage, I'm taking him for a second opinion on Saturday at our normal vets ( not the one we use for his inoculations, as they are cheaper ) they did Tobi's ops when he did both his in 6 months apart . Fingers crossed they got it wrong, he's had metacam injection, and goes back tomorrow for more meds, I was totally open with them of my intentions

Oh poor Beau, when we thought that, that was what Jasper had done I did a lot of reading up on cruciate ligament damage and it's not always necessary to operate as 8 weeks total rest and it will repair itself. If I was you when you get your second opinion I'd ask for and x-ray. Good luck, and keep us informed.

Sorry to hear about Beaus leg problem S.W. such a worry when they have health problems.Hopefully it won't be a ligament problem as feared. A friends B.C. was thought to have cruciate ligament problem, and even had visit to specialist vet in Leeds. After lots of investigations the dog was given a steroid injection and the change in her has been miraculous! Good job she was insured,as investigations cost a small fortune. So fingers crossed for Beau, the thought of trying to get a Springer to rest and take it easy sounds like mission impossible.Fingers crossed for you both.
