We've taken in a new cat and we aren't sure if she is pregnant or not. Seeing as we never really looked at her before we don't know if her behavior has changed. She is fairly skinny and I can feel her ribs but her tummy is very round looking.Could it just be that she is getting lots of food for the first time ever, she always seems to be hungry.Today she has had 200g of wet food and 70g or dry food but she looks at me as if she hasn't had anything. I can't see her nipples to see if their big, she hasn't vomited but she is being very affectionate, something we find odd for a ct that has had next to no human interaction for years. I don't have a pic but I'll try to get one tomorrow. Does she sound pregnant?? We know she has had many litters before and it's a fair guess that Charlie and Morandi are her grandchildren We got them off our neighbours sister

You can only tell if she is pregnant after 3 weeks into her pregnancy, her nipples will be quite pink, this is called 'pinking up', not all pregnant cats have sickness, if she hasn't been spayed then there is a good chance she is, I would take her to the vets, if she is only just pregnant he can still spay her, if she isn't pregnant he can spay her, if she is further on once her kittens are born and once they are weaned then the kindest thing you can do for her is spay her. Do you know how old she is? Was she a stray when you took her in?

We have only properly taken her in yesterday I made a thread about it before here's the link yourpet.boards.net/thread/247/sort-stray-cat She's not spayed and the vet said to wait about a month or two until she's built up a bit. She's about 8/9 we think. She was a neighbours cat but they neglected her so we eventually took her in. She was at the vets yesterday and he didn't say anything, now that I think of it the roundness seems pretty sudden, I hope it's just a full belly. Also any name suggestions are appreciated, current options are Nelly,Elsa,Jane Doe Or anything oldish

If her stomach is large could it be worms? That and the being overly hungry??

gladys i'm not sure I think mama is going to the vets today to pick up a wormer, but I'm a bit reluctant to give it to her if she actually is pregnant. Here's some photos I got earlier

She looks thin but Fat?!?!? What does her tummy feel like? Is there anyway you can get her to the vets or even just to see the nurse?

Her tummy feels a bit firm not squishy like Charlie or Morandi's . I don't think that my parents would be thrilled about going back to the vets 2 days later. She used the litter tray yesterday and I saw no worms or anything odd. Although kittens are adorable and I would love to have some, I don't know if we would let her have the pregnancy:/

If your parents don't want to make another trip to the vets maybe you could call them and get some advice on the phone?? I guess if it's down to your parents they have got to decide whether they want to make another trip to the vets with her now or maybe deal with lots of kittens later on??

My name suggestion is Queenie. Has she been wormed as that can swell up the belly.

Thanks, I didn't even think of that link. Queenie is quite an old fashioned name which I rather think would suit her!
