Hello
I do hope I am posting in the right place. I met scallywag yesterday . Hello scallywag.
I am the proud owner of two black and white cats who are brothers and total opposites.
One is laid back the other well he is not loopy like his brother.
I have joined the forum basically to find out about what others do with regarding cats.
They are house cats I have no choice if they went out they would not be here. Two of their siblings lost their lives with in the space of 2 weeks due to the traffic where we live.
We used to have 4 cats but we are talking about 30 years ago, traffic was not as bad as it is now hence they went out doors.
I am swoots by the way

Glad to see you here swoots as you already know I am from the dark side and own a Springer called Beau. Hope to chat lots more and maybe see photo's of your 2 , but realise it's one step at a time for you so just keep shouting if you need help with anything. @gillykat has 2 indoor cats one of hers is a little terror so sounds like you two may have a few tales to talk about LOL

Hello again scallywag as I sit here with my heart in my mouth and feeling rather nervous. I saw your message in my emails. so I take it that is how it works.
Photos oh my I have to ask my son to post these as I have a vague idea as to what to do but am hopeless. I have to get him to write things down then I follow.
My cats are Sooty and Sweep that is why I chose my name Swoots cant leave one out can I .
I am sure myself and gillykat will have a few tales to tell.
Thank you for the welcome by the way. if I don't reply I am doing things but I will reply when able.
I shall have a look round and see if I can figure things out .
Swoots

I will send you my instructions from the help thread, I did it sort of ( forgive the phrase ) Idiot Proof cause I was that idiot at one point Do you have a photo Bucket account to upload your photo's to, then loading them on here will be really simple and only 2 clicks away

Hi swoots, welcome to the forum. As you can see by my signature photos I have 7 cats and 2 dogs. Like you I have had cats killed on the busy road outside my house, and after the last one being only 8 months old I decided to keep my cats as indoor cats with access to a cat pen in the garden during the day. With the exception of Toffee who was a streetwise stray 2 years ago. He goes in and out of the house in the day and sleeps in my cat pen in the night.
Would love to hear more about your 2 boys and see some photos.

Welcome to the forum swoots, hope you enjoy it here & look forward to hearing more about your cats I'm Toni with 4 rescue cats aged between 4 & 15, they all have outdoor access as its quite quiet here & we're right on the edge of a country park. I must admit Penny (15 & arthritic) doesn't go out much - as she tends to get chased in by either Osiris or Lexie! But she has enjoyed a little of our summer sun this year (when we had it ) As scallywag said we're not here all the time especially those with working lives etc - I'm retired so tend to be on at various times day & night. I look at all the threads regardless of the boards as I was brought up with dogs & enjoy the general chatter, or as some would say just plain nosey , so I tend to use the Recent Threads option in the menu bar at the top of the page. However I do bookmark some of the threads so that I get a notification (both in my forum profile & by email) when they are updated as well as being able to find them quickly or want to refer to them at a later date. I also have it set to get a notification in my profile when I'm tagged in a post or my post is liked. You can see if there are any bookmark or other notifications in your profile by a number against the profile & bookmark options in the top menu bar. Any help you need with the forum don't hesitate to ask - we were all new once! We do have a Help/FAQ board in the forum & there is an index to the latest versions of the instructions. If any don't make sense then let us know as its so easy to write something that makes sense when you know what you're doing but is gobble-de-gook to the person who needs the help - or in my case too long-winded as you might gather from this post!

Swoots Hi swoots you can post photos where ever you want no one will tell you off LOL. You can even go to the photography board ( that is private to members only ) so you have to be a member to view photos on there. if you plan on sending lots of photo's over time then maybe consider starting a thread all of your own just for your photo's and then keep adding to it, that way your photo's wont get lost over time Here's an example.... Click THIS LINK HERE to go to my album and see what I mean x
