The thought of Lucy having so much fun in the hydrotherapy pool really made me smile maryangela, it shows just how well she is feeling bless her, completely unaware that poor mum is in pieces with worry.

I'm using photobucket, but when I copy and paste the URL it just comes out as, well, the URL!

maryangela you need to use the links to share the picture & click on the IMG code box & then copy the box contents & paste it into a post here. scallywag is more of an expert on photobucket than me so she should be able to help further.

Once you have clicked on the one called IMG URL=http. Etc and it flashes copied are you then coming on here and pasting it straight into the reply box ? Don't try any of the other ways come straight here where you are reading this maryangela x once you have pasted it in here you wont see the photo until you post your message You can also check what you have uploaded before posting by clicking on the preview button bottom left, if its what you want then post it. If you want to add more photos click back on the tab next to preview called BBCode and go back on photobucket grab another link and come back here again and paste it Just check In your settings, what is your posting default? Mine is set with the dot in the BBCode

I'm really rubbish at this game. OK, I did all as Scallywag said last night but my pic appeared just as a red x. I'll have another go now and see if it turns into a pic when I post it, but if not I'll have to leave it for now as I need a good night's sleep (as if!) before Lucy's first Radiation therapy tomorrow.

Thank you so much everyone. I'll try to bear Chantel's advice in mind to stay strong and take a day at a time, which means concentrating on the present and not thinking ahead to what might happen. It hasn't been a good day. Lucy's cancer is now strongly suspected of being a liposarcoma, which is rare, to the extent that only two have been treated before in this facility. Furthermore it is in a very difficult position. As I said before, surgery is not possible because of proximity to vital areas near to it, and today we found that (because it is liposarcoma) radiation therapy is also very limited as far as any hopes go. Just as in the case of surgery, an adequate margin of good tissue must also be excised in order to be as sure as possible that the tumour will not regrow, so with the radiation therapy - it must delineate an area well outside the boundary of the tumour. In Lucy's case, the ideal line comes too close to structures associated with the functions of the ear, eye, and even the spinal cord. So it has been decided to give her only four treatments of radiation therapy, the one she has had today and one on the next three Fridays, possibly followed by chemotherapy. There are some risks now that eye and ear might be affected, and even the brain stem. The longer Lucy survives the more likely it is that such complications will occur - say after a year, if it is that long.
So you can imagine how I feel, but I can look at the immediate advantages, namely that Lucy won't have to endure all those days of radiation therapy. She's pretty sandbagged after anaesthetics, and wanders round whingeing for 24 hours, so that will be a relief. Also the ban on swimming is lifted for at least the next two weeks.
Just a couple of months ago I got a new little caravan, and, as I couldn't bear going away in it without Lucy, I suppose you could say I bought it for her! What I want to do now is get away to the seaside (the Rhinns of Galloway is the favourite place, and, of course, Thurstaston, North Wales coast and Anglesey) as soon as we can.
Love and thanks to all.
