Oh goodness! She really does like to chew those collars doesn't she Roo?? Yes, it's a rather expensive habit! It's not their fault really, we haven't had a garden since before Christmas due to all the weather and they haven't been able to have time apart - they seem to be having a spot if cabin fever! Misty loves being outside and they like to have their own time. Jools does have her crate, but it's unfair for her to be cooped up! And not wearing collars isn't an option, I couldn't live with myself I they got out and had no ID!

I don't think I'd be too concerned, but I'd keep an eye on her. To think what rubbish our animals probly eat on walks, ECT. and they've been fine (I've most likely jinxed myself now).

Yikes belladad! I'm glad to know it's not just Ellie who has a taste for rather weird and disgusting things lol. I'll keep you all posted! Oh dear Roo! Poor things, I imagine they're a bit confused about why they haven't got a garden. I have to say, I feel the same way. I often think about leaving Pepper & Ellie's collars off, but then I just think about how many times we let them out into the garden without looking to see if the gate is closed (it can sometimes be awkward to close) and what would happen if they got out. No collars is not an option! Thanks bectil, I think everyone's of the same opinion. I probably wouldn't have given it a thought if I hadn't just read about the two bulldogs dying after swallowing threads from a rope toy! She's eaten so much rubbish in the past, all with no ill effects, so hopefully this is the same sort of thing.

Well, I haven't sifted any poo myself today, but my mam did this morning She informed me that it looked like there was string there, so hopefully that's the end of it!

Haha, well hopefully she was right and there was string. Last time she said she thought Ellie had passed the lolly stick only for Ellie to vomit it up three days later!

Hopefully SarahHound! Haha, no Caz, she'd definitely only had the one lolly stick because I was there when she ate it! It was at a dog show last year, lol. I forgot about the fact that she swallows practically anything she can pick up and thought she'd just lick the ice cream off it (it was a Mini Milk), but literally a second later I remembered, but it was already too late and the stick was gone!

Glad to hear she is passing the string. Depending on what it was made of, her stomach acid might have dissolved parts of it as well. The two dogs in America were bulldogs, which have loads of stomach (and other) problems compared to other dogs.
During my high school work experience I got to watch an operation on a dog who had swallowed a few pairs of its owners knickers and he only reason he had trouble with it was because they were so big (as in lots of material, the owner didn't have enormous knickers haha) that they'd got ton stuck, but even then quite far down his digestive system. A small bit of string would in most cases be alright I'd think, it's not big enough to really block the digestive tract like the bunch of knickers and dogs are amazingly good at getting things out of their system one way or another.
Saying that, when Rosa eats something she's not supposed to for the first time I'm likely to go into full blown panic haha! I've suddenly noticed how disgusting the streets are since getting her!

Well, she's been perfectly fine for the last few days, so I think it's gone It's because I've heard stories from vets of dogs swallowing long, stringy things and having to have major surgery because of intestinal problems. That was why I was worried, although the bit of string wasn't too long so I don't think it was likely to prove much of a problem. Haha, yeah you'll have to be on your toes with a pup!
