Personally, no. Jools is a notorious thief and will eat ALL evidence. She has eaten in total 7 collars - 2 complete, one of which she had actually managed to eat off of her own neck! I know it's more than lucky, as she could have had to have major surgery or worse ... Other than these, she has managed to eat smaller objects and nothing serious has come of it. One of the collars took over a week to make an appearance, I was getting worried as a friend's bull terrier had just had major obstruction surgery.

As others are saying, I would just keep an eye on her, but I'm pretty sure it will come out the other end. I agree with scallywag that you might want to have some tissue ready!

If it's the same sort of elasticated thin 'string' they tie chickens with up here it'll probably pass through ok....but just keep an eye on her, as others have said...if only to put your own mind at ease As to you....stay outta the kitchen hinny....it's a DANGEROUS place!!!! I avoided it as much as possible for years and years but now that I've made the mistake of learning how to cook gorgeous curries and chillis then I've got no excuse

omg!! Hope Ellie is ok! Hope it passes. Let us know how she goes.
When one of my monsters swallowed all that dodgy meat I learnt that if you can get to vet within 1 hr they can make them sick and everything tends to come back up!!
I think if one of mine did what Ellie had done she would sick it up. I have had a chicken wing bone pass whole through the other before!! That was a scary present!!
Cant advise of the string side of things as mine have never had stuff like that.
If she refuses a meal, goes quiet or acts abnormally or does not do her normal presents in the day then I would consult the vet.

Well, I am a bit of a worrier when it comes to my beloved Earl, so it would probably be bothering me until it passed, yes. Remember that vomiting at that stage is a positive thing, as it rids the stomach of what could cause a problem inside, and is also showing you that there is something the body doesn't agree with therefore is trying to eject. Keep an eye of Ellie's faeces and vomit to see if you can spot it. You will know if something is really up with her - if so, involve a vet ASAP.

gladys, did you not see it on twitter? I saw it on a tweet from Pooch & Co that I'm sure you'd RT'd too. It didn't say what kind of rope toy it was, but I believe the dogs were in America, so possibly different to one made here? Lol, thanks Pawsforthought! I am quite accident prone, I have to admit. I'm going to keep an eye on her, although I'm not sure what would be a reasonable amount of time for it to pass? A few days at the most? I know what you were referring to as I did indeed read it and re-Tweet it. My worry was whether all the rope toys in the house were uk ones or had the special letters on the thrown long ago packaging?!?

Haha scallywag! I've had to do that before with Ellie, although I usually just use the poo bag With her poops being a lot smaller and firmer now, it's not too difficult to just use the poo bag to pick it all up and have an examination (too much information?). I examined everything she did today, but no sign of the string so far. I thought it was probably too early, but because she'd vomited most of her tea up I thought it might make an appearance. Oh dear Roo! Jools sounds exceptionally talented at getting a collar off her own neck! Glad she came to no harm though. @gillykat I imagine it will be the same kind of string considering we're not too far from you! She's eaten her tea okay today, and I've informed my dad that he needs to keep an eye out when he takes them out first thing on a morning. As for staying out of the kitchen, well I don't normally go in it other than to prepare the dogs' food! The cut has pretty much healed now. It really was very tiny, but was bleeding well. My grated fingers, on the other hand, are quite sore! Thanks caz2golden! I'll let you know how it turns out. As bad as it sounds, I was reluctant to try and get her to the vets yesterday as it would have brought an out of hours fee! I'm hoping it'll pass with no bother, so it's going to be a few days of poop examination lol. She's behaved perfectly normally today, luckily. gladys - Ahh, I see. Has Cooper had the toys for a while? If so, I'm sure things will be fine.
