Sadly my little hog passed away last night. He was still only a young hedgehog but he was very poorly and the vets couldn't figure out what was wrong with him  |

I already have another one. Her names Shadow and we'll be picking her up in the new year when she's old enough. Really sad because I reserved her before i knew Sonic was ill and now it feels like i'm replacing him.

Oh no really How horrible for him. Did he know what was wrong with her? Thanks everyone, he had been poorly for a while but I don't think he was suffering when we lost him, he looked peaceful. |

Oh no really How horrible for him. Did he know what was wrong with her? Thanks everyone, he had been poorly for a while but I don't think he was suffering when we lost him, he looked peaceful. No we didn't know what was wrong with her infortunately I was staying over his house that weekend and we just noticed she didn't seem right you know..wasn't eating anything really unless hand fed the mealworms. He took her to the vet but she was the first hedgehog he'd had there and just gave him some antibiotics for her, but instead of getting better she went downhill :/. |

Yeah, i've gone through the hard task of finding a vet that deals with exotics including hedgehogs, it's an hour drive away but in future if shadow were to get poorly i'd want someone who knows what they're doing. The vet I took sonic to the first time said he had an infection and the antibiotics worked but the second time it was something much worse.
Do you know if she could have had a hibernation attempt? They can be really bad. Sonic had 2 but luckily we got to him in time for the first one but i think the second one was too much for him.
