This morning, Earl left about half of his dinner. This is most odd for him, as he usually attempts to throw it down his throat as soon as he is given it!
I hand fed him two more pieces to see if he would go back to eating it and he took it very gently. Then he went back to eating it in a very wishy-washy fashion. (He is on Symply adult dry).
I have checked in his mouth and there is nothing abnormal in there.
He has had a bit of raw food mixed in with his dry in the past (a few weeks ago) but now is again just on his kibble to give him a break. Do you think he might be bored with his kibble after the taste of raw food? Or could there be an underlying health problem, or could he have lost his appetite?
Much appreciated! BT

Might be the weather, is it hot there? Or maybe his just not hungry. Sometimes Cooper doesn't seem hungry in the morning and will take longer to eat or not eat it all. As long as Earl seems ok in himself and doesn't continue to leave food then I wouldn't worry to much at this stage.

Its very hot here - I would usually say 'but nothing stops Earl from eating!' but no; I find it hard doing things in the heat. He is fine in himself, and ate his dinner with no fuss. Thanks everyone - I will make sure I take the weather into consideration before I jump to more serious conclusions next time

Jasper has been like that the last couple of weeks. If fact he's lost some weight, but now the weather has cooled a bit he's back to his ravenous self.

No problems again today luckily, he should be going back to raw mixed in to his dry soon, but still, he eats the raw off the top of the kibble and then eats the kibble with ease! What's he like?!

Heat can affect them like it affects us. Same as if they're tired. Dexter left some of his dinner on Sunday night (we had been out from 11am and home at 9.30pm) on the go all day and he even left some breakfast the next morning. Just ate slow then walked away. Back eating normal that night. I wouldn't worry unless it lasts more than a few days. Just make sure he's drinking in the heat. That's important

I think your Earl had a CC day BT! I've barely been eating any dinner the last few days as this heat has made me loose my appetite. Frankie also has been eating less but not my Jess

Again, advice appreciated, but we have found something else. Earl will eat anything but Symply even in the heat. So we investigated and bought him a pack of Burns Adult Lamb and Brown Rice. We mixed it in and he ate the Burns but left the Symply. He is most likely bored of Symply because of other tastes he has had in the past! Earl, a fussy eater? Wow.

Jasper's like this. I started him on ToTW and I think he just prefers the more 'exotic' tastes (bison and venison lol). If you think about it, would you like to eat chicken and rice day in day out for the rest of your life? I know I wouldn't fancy quorn and rice forever

I was looking at the Symply ingredients this morning and it contains both white and brown rice and hardly much meat meal. Burns however contained less rice. it just contains brown rice. The flavour of his Burns is Lamb and Brown Rice. He much prefers it. Sounds like Jasper has fine taste
