So as per usual the cats are shedding this time of year but it's starting to get ridiculous. There is cat hair everywhere. The couch, the curtains, CLEAN clothes and no matter how hard we try, our food. It wasn't this bad last year and Morandi is the main culprit. I got them a slicker brush last week and I got loads of dead hair out of them but it isn't making much of a difference. I only really noticed how bad it is today when I was putting my washing out on the line. One of my black t-shits was still covered with cat hair after being washed. Usually I get it off the clothes I'm wearing by using a thing we got with the hoover, I don't know how to describe it or with a ball of sellotape . What do you do to stop yourself from drowning in cat hair?

We have a permanent shedder in Penny. But that's mainly on her bed or the carpet so the vac works well. Again Roman sheds all year but not so much but its where he lays - so spare bed & one chair in the conservatory. Osiris doesn't really moult but just leaves some dark hair were he lies so again our bed & landing carpet. When we make our bed we have to remove the cat hair with a clothes brush as they've lain on the turned back bit whilst its airing!! We've also covered all the spare beds & conservatory chairs with cheap throws so that the cats can use them but if we have visitors or we want to sit there we can remove them. Lexie's not too bad - her cushion gets a bit & you do if you hold her. A friend was showing me how to clip her claws & covered in white hair - she was wearing a dark outfit!!! We tried the Carpet pet hair remover www.besteverpethairremover.com/ which works well on furnishings but wasn't too good this time. My friend (an experienced cat owner) suggested using a rubber glove - which worked much better. We've also got the lint remover rollers - they were a Xmas gift & I've tried them & they work very well (completely forgot about them when my friend needed hair removal!! ) Luckily it doesn't sound as bad as your cats

Sorry not sure if I made myself clear, the rubber glove was to remove the hair off clothes not the cat! . I've had a similar glove to the one you looked at on zooplus as they are supposed to be good for cats that don't like being brushed because when you use the glove its like stroking the cat. It worked OK but the cat didn't like it.

Just put the clothes in the dryer to see if it might help, doesn't usually but it magically might today. Ours like being brushed until you go for the deeper layers, Morandi squirms, Charlie yowls and attacks and I haven't tried with Mrs.Woman yet, she has no teeth but she knows how to use her claws.(But she still tries to bite and let me tell you it feels weird )

This is Flirty, and he sheds that much I feel like a have two carpets all the time, I just can't keep up with him. I have a Dyson and a handheld Dirt Devil for the stairs so that helps. Like you I have to cover the spare bed, but when the other half has been fishing for the night he put his sleeping bag on the bed to air, and you can guarantee that flirts will get on it, and cover the black fleece lining with his grey hair. I don't know what breed he is but the vet called him a posh cat.

I saw a t-shirt on eBay with the text: no outfit is complete without a few cat hairs. The brush for the furniture works, but the hair sticks to my clothes and I haven't find a remedy yet.

No we get our food at the supermarket, for all wet food and they don't sell the dry stuff that Jasper likes. I'm going to have a look at P@H see if they have anything similar.

Can anyone recommend a brilliant must have comb/brush for short but very hairy cats and long haired too?
I just have a normal comb with small gaps between teeth one side and larger gaps the other but was thinking I need something that would work as well as say the dog FURminator, as an example??
