chantel, they look good. I think I know what we will be having one weekend soon for lunch. I think I'd drop either the temp down to 180* or the time down to 4 mins. What cheese to you use? I buy Aldi's white mature cheddar, and sometimes it doesn't seam to melt very well. l dropped temperature down to 180 , 5 mins , was soggy , turned over and upped to 190 further 5 mins.
TBH l prefer my usual way , same basis but use a frying pan , less time , cheese melted quicker and bread is not so crunchy crumbly

scallywag, when I do proper chips, I'm under strict instructions to always use the deep fat fryer as it adds to the flavor. I'm going to try your fish and sweet potato fry's in it tonight as the fry's are frozen. Thanks for trying the reduced temp, if we try one I'll reduce the time to 4 mins. I have toasty bags to do them in the toaster, so I'll see how we go.

Frozen Asda haddock in breadcrumb and sweet potato fry's, both done at 200*c for 16 mins, turned half way through.
Fish was perfect, but the fry's were still soggy so put back in for another 5 mins and sprayed with Rapeseed oil. The outcome was a little better but they didn't look as good as if done in the oven. They tasted ok though.
Think in this instance I should have preheated first.

Sweet potato fries tend to be softer than normal potato fries. They are hard to get crispy, but still very nice.

It's one of my bug burs that the booklet with my fryer doesn't give any timings.
