Hmmm, well if I see the plaqueoff tomorrow then I might pick up a pot of it and see how it goes. Or Logic gel, if it is cheaper or I can't get any plaqueoff. Our experience of Logic Gel was unimpressive - but the stuff does seem to attract very good reviews. It is recommended by some vets (especially those that sell it: do they recommend it because it's good? Or because they sell it ?- like certain brands of dog food!!). I get the impression that it is good if you brush it on, and it seems to be good for maintaining clean teeth AFTER they have been cleaned and polished at the vet's. I'm not knocking the stuff - it does seem very popular, but it didn't work for us. Much prefer Plaqueoff (and CSJ stuff).

Well my past Dogs had to have their teeth cleaned at the vets.mitzi's teeth wasn't too bad because she loved chewing bones etc but phoebes teeth were horrible and she had bad breath she had to have her teeth cleaned at the vets twice and even have a few removed she would never chew bones or buiscuits she was very lazy, from what i wad told by the vet smaller breeds of dogs are more prone to teeth decay so this time around we want to start as we mean to go along. I'm thinking of trying something with Riley brushing or using plaque off. but when he has got over his teething he is suffering quite bad at the moment he is loosing tooth after tooth and his gums look quite sore:-(

Ok so, no plaqueoff or logic gel. They had neither at the shop. I also forgot to get the kelp and seaweed supplement too! *slaps self in face* I saw some dental treats there (like kibble, you obviously add them to meals) and I was going to get a bag as it was only €4, but it was a good think I checked the ingredients. 1st word was 'Cereals'. No thank you. I doubt they would have helped anyway, bephar stuff isn't great. I also forgot to get a little finger brush, so I may find a cloth. I'll have to just stick to the toothpaste I have (a baking soda one) for now. See if it does anything when used long term.

I have used www.lintbells.com/products/toothcleaner I am sure you can make a home made one with gauze or similar!! I started with this (just wetting with water) followed with tooth paste on finger. Now occasionally they will tolerate a finger brush with paste on so slow progress! Still need to do it regularly though instead of every day for a few days and then forget for the next month!!

Well the logic may not be giving my Gerri cats teeth the "Hollywood" smile look yet but it's stopped that horrid breath that made grown men stop in their track & run off in fear?!?

Cant find the thread I was looking for but this one will do. CollieSlave was it you who said you were trialing Plaque Off? As I am bound to have got it wrong who was trialing it!! I was just wondering how the change from CSJ to plaque off has gone and which you prefer. I am nearly out of my CSJ stuff and if Plaque off is generally seen as better by forum users was thinking I would give it a crack.

Logic Gel seems to be helping to reduce the staining on Finn's teeth considerably. We give his teeth a brush before bed every night and he quite enjoys it because he knows he gets a "tooth brush treat" afterwards It might not work so well on actual plaque though? The vet said that his teeth are really healthy but just a bit stained, rather than having plaque.

I am nearly out of my CSJ stuff and if Plaque off is generally seen as better by forum users was thinking I would give it a crack. I would say that Plaque Off is marginally better than CSJ. It's a bit tricky to judge - the CSJ certainly made a difference so the Plaque Off has been used on teeth already improved by the CSJ! Certainly with the Plaque Off Bryn's teeth are looking better than they have ever done since we have had him. There is still some staining but I suspect that this would take a clean and polish at the vets to remove it - and I do not want to go down that road due in part to the anaesthetic. Bryn does not like brushing but he let me scratch at the staining with my finger nail and the staining was quite smooth and polished; in other words it seems to be just slight discolouration. We shall continue with the Plaque Off - it is pricey but economic in use. Sorry not to be more definitive in my reply!

I haven't read the whole thread so apoligise if it's already been mentioned, but Petzlife oral gel is quite a good product. Yes it's quite pricey, but if your dog's teeth have plaque that won't be removed with brushing, its worth a try. I've always had to work hard to keep my eldest's dog's teeth stain free and despite being on a raw diet, he developed plaque on his back teeth but only on the right hand side (so obviously chews his bones on the left!) So to avoid an anesthetic job I decided to give the Petzlife a try. You apply it to the teeth and gumline everyday for a few weeks. I was amazed when the plaque literally came away when I brushed his teeth. All clear now!! I brush his teeth everyday now - he hates it but he lets me do it! But its good to know I can fall back on the Petzlife should the plaque return.

Thats fine, any idea between the two is great If there is a slight improvement then its possibly worth a go If I find it does not help my little monster then I can always return to CSJ.
