I really want logic gel now!! I'll have to look around.
The thing with the plaque off is that it is only seaweed. Its got very low dosage so I assume that it is some king of 'special' mixture, but I do wonder if a general seaweed supplement would do similar things? What also put me off the plawue off (bar its price) was the fact that it takes a fair amount of time to take effect. Obviously, nothing happens over night but I'd like results a little sooner than after 6 weeks of use for the price of it.

Well lets give it a few more days Bextull and we'll know how Babs has got on with it. Have to say though I found it online for £6.20 (with free shipping) and yet they want £13 for it at p@h!!!!!!! She's had three dollops so far, I'm giving her it before her walk, as she is fed straight after, then it has a good hour in her mouth before she gets her bones

I think if dogs teeth have quite bad build up of plaque on them, the only answer is a clean by tbe vet first befor embarking on the Plaque Off or Logic Gel.

Oh, and its a completely personal choice, but just to lead you in the correct direction bextull, don't use dentastix, full of sugar, I'm sure your aware of this?

I am very aware of dentastix being full of sugar, they are also full of many other things.
I cannot order online, so no CSJ.
He isn't going to the vet to get teeth cleaned. They are not that bad. He was at the vets 2 weeks ago, he never mentioned bad teeth.
Sorry, have to keep replies short and sweet until I get an actual computer screen, with keyboard. Hate replying on the tab.

CollieSlave, have you tried the plaque off yet? If so, how do you find it? I'm kind of dreading seeing Oscars teeth tomorrow. He has been on Kibble, with no bones for the past week and a half and will be until next Wednesday/Thursday. I did send his StagBar with him, but I don't know if he will chew it at the kennels. It's not great Kibble either (the best of a bad bunch though), so I really don't want to see. I'll be getting some seaweed and kelp stuff on Monday hopefully (or plaque off if it's good and available and not €€€).

I found that barley's teeth were sparkling clean after having a chew on some beef bones, his back ones were really disgusting and horrible but after he had a chew on his beef bone it cleaned them up really well, they have started to go a little bit yellow again as he has not had a good chew on a bone for a week or so now. His front ones are still quite yucky but i don't know how to clean them.

puppypal I think if you can get some bones with a good covering of meat on it will help to clean Barley's front teeth as he'll use them to tear the meat off the bone. I found an improvement in both Pepper and Ellie's front teeth after giving them the lamb shanks, plus I think the mince will help too if it's got ground bone in.

Have to say that the logic gel is definitely working on Lil Babs's back teeth! And that's only with her licking it off my finger. I've started to be able to get it on her teeth directly a bit sometimes but she is a bugger for wriggling around. Both of them love the taste of it though, as soon as I pick the tube up they both sit down and wait for it like good dogs

It IS very economical, using a very small scoop relative to the quantity in the pot, and there is a visible improvement in deposits on Bryn's teeth even after three weeks. We had been using CSJ Seaweed & Parsley which did work to some extent but is not as effective as the Plaqueoff. The CSJ is about £11 for 100gm and the Plaqueoff is about £8 for 60gm. But the CSJ gives a far larger quantity in volume as it is far less dense than Plaqueoff although the bonus of larger volume is offset by its being less effective. The Plaqueoff is patented - so they obviously have confidence in the stuff and think the ingredients might be worth copying. Based on our experience so far, I think we shall continue with it, despite the relatively high price. I am distinctly disinclined to try brushing Bryn's teeth as I am sure he would find it very stressful (so would I!) and this stuff offers a viable alternative. I suspect that there is far more to tooth deposits than just the food that the dog is fed - I think that, as with humans, some dogs' teeth are whiter and have better enamel than others and probably resist deposits better - but this is just my opinion!

My two dogs are fed the same food. The younger one has appalling teeth the older one hardly any discoloring or build up. The younger chews on deer antlers and other chews / toys the older does not. So why has the younger got worse teeth considering she is younger and chews on things? !!! I think you are spot on CollieSlave, just like in humans some dont get plaque build up and others do. I do think food is an influencing factor but does not override the genetics (i.e if your dog is prone it is prone) p.s CollieSlave thanks for the opinions on Plaque off vs CSJ. I think the CSJ has helped my girls teeth by preventing further build up of tartar / plaque. It did decrease the amount slightly initially but has leveled off. I think from what you have put that Plaque off will be better. When I run out of the CSJ I may consider a change However that will be months away! Though I was looking at a seaweed supplement with regard to raw feeding so may try that (I think it has to be one or other not both)!! In a couple of months I guess I will be asking for forum advice!!

Hmmm, well if I see the plaqueoff tomorrow then I might pick up a pot of it and see how it goes.
Or Logic gel, if it is cheaper or I can't get any plaqueoff.
