Bramble is fine in herself scallywag . I need to perform miracles on Friday. I'm working as I couldn't have the day off because my boss is going to a music festival. For starters I will be late as I have a 9am appointment with Bramble at the vets. I have a doctor's appointment at 11.10am and now a dentist appointment at 11.30am! The dentist appointment is supposed to be an emergency one - I woke up yesterday morning about 4am and my crown had come off my teeth - I could have choked on it!! I put it back in place, pressed hard, and it's stayed there for now. I might have to sacrifice my doctor's appointment for the dentist one - priorities - I can't bite into any food at the moment as I feel the crown will be off again so I have to cut up all of my food! Oops, I think most of this should be in the Chit Chat thread.

Hope you can manage to juggle all your appointments lotsofcats & that the vets discussion about Bramble goes OK & that you get your tooth sorted out. You're the 2nd person this week who has had to have work done due to crown problems - I won't tell you how the other one went other than to say it wasn't Elaine's day on Tuesday as on the ay back from the dentist she also rescued 3 abandoned kittens only to find the rescue couldn't take them but luckily they came back to her having found a fosterer!!

Poor Elaine! How did she come to rescue 3 abandoned kittens? - thank goodness the cat rescue found a fosterer for them or she would have been putting them up.
Today is running smoothly so far. Been to the vets and Bramble was ok to have her vaccination. The vet has advised me to put her on Royal Canin Urinary S/O food. I have to take a sample of Bramble's urine again in 2 weeks.

lotsofcats, She found them under a bush on her way back from the dentist, managed to catch one got it secure at home in one of her pens & then went back for the oher 2. Apparently they were on the starving side, no sign of mum. Good to hear Bramble's appointment went OK & hope the S/O does the trick. Fingers crossed the rest of your day went as well.

I took a sample of Bramble's urine to the vets to be tested yesterday to see how she was doing after eating Royal Canin Urinary s/o food. There was still blood and some crystals in it but not as much as before. Bramble doesn't really like the food so hasn't been eating enough of it. I will now buy some of the wet Urinary s/o food as well and try to get her to eat more of the biscuits - funny thing is the other cats keep pinching it and they love it! I have to take Kiba-Khan to the vet tomorrow for his annual check up and booster so will discuss Bramble's results with him then.

Typical cats, the ones that need to eat the food don't like it & the ones that don't need it do! Hope the moist version works for Bramble & you can get more info from the vets tomorrow lotsofcats.

Is Hills C/D an option? My crystal-cat Panter preferred that to RC.

I am going to try another brand dutchkitties, I think Bramble prefers fish variety. The vet wasn't too concerned. On the other hand, Kiba-Khan's check up was good. He weighed in at 8.2 kg!

Mine only want chicken. I always order them, for in the supermarket there are 4 different pouches in a box. Zooplus and Medic Animal sell vet diets as you know. Dry and wet. various brands. Good luck.

I'll be doing an order with Zooplus this week to get some different variety of foods suitable for Bramble's condition. I must also get some 'light' food for my puddings, Kali and Toffee. The vet has suggested I take in a urine sample once a month for Bramble - they charge £20 just to look at it under the microscope for blood and crystals. My vets now sends a text message the day before an appointment as a reminder - just as well as they had booked me in to the wrong branch! Why would I phone the one branch to make an appointment for the other branch? I had to phone them early and tell them and then had to change the time of my appointment for Kiba-Khan. He was very naughty the night before, I was giving him a brushing and suddenly his poor shot out and he stuck his claws in my hand! I had to grab his paw and unhook his claws before he decided to just pull them upwards. It really hurt and bled quite a bit and I have a bruise - the little devil!

Hope you hand's Ok today lotsofcats, Osiris is good at doing that, in his case they also slice he really does have talons! Good idea of Bramble's urine tested monthly but not for your purse. As to the wrong surgery, I've turned up at the wrong one before now - not sure whether it was me or the vets - but they managed to fit me in. Which light are you going for with Kai & Toffee? We had success with Roman on mixing RC Ultra Light & Sterilised Appetite Control 7+ for the kibble & the Ultra Light gravy/jelly for the moist but also did give Felix pouches. We had one advantage in that most of the main diet time was when he was incarcerated this year. It was slow but steady - a kilo lost. We're still keeping him on the Appetite Control but at a maintenance level mixed with other RC & the same mix of pouches. As he's out & about now he's supplementing his diet as I saw one evening last week when he was obviously eating something on the lawn, though not sure what - no trace left but he was definitely enjoying it!
