That's very brave of you, taking in another cat and a feral one as well. Good luck at the vet's tomorrow.

Hattie seems A LOT livelier and happier this past few days so I'm hoping her medication IS kicking in ok As to my little wildcat.....I'm sure he'll be fine after a few days once he realises that nobody bothers him in this house and that the scary humans are the source of goodies like treats and catnip mice and fishing rod toys Once we get him home we'll let him come out of the carrier when HE wants and have a litter tray and food close by and we'll just treat him as we treat all new cats - by completely ignoring him and letting him suss us out at HIS own speed The hardest part will be NOT getting attached and wanting to keep him I'll have to keep reminding myself that I cannot have THREE cats and a Chihuahua!!!

Neil Tho' since when have I ever listened to him If a wee chi in need came up and I had the cash I would grab him/her and Neil would be exactly the same Just the cats for now tho..... Vet was pleased to hear that Hattie was feeing more lively and had put on a little bit of weight Unfortunately her heart rate is still around the 200 mark. A blood sample was taken so we should get the results tomorrow or Saturday. So fingers crossed there's no underlying nasties She certainly SEEMS happier and fitter and doing well on her pills.

So glad Hattie seems to be getting better, any word on the lump? And is there anything the vet can do for her heart rate? more pics please im so jealous of you and all your cats haha, I've been sorely missing my scottish two, I mean I don't like to have favourites but I always have had a special bond with Smudgie, and Bramble still hasn't come home and someone was in my work today getting stuff for an new kitten (I made him get O'Canis wet food which is high meat percent, although not as good as Bozita and advised the hell out of him about all things kitten, bam!) and I'm sooo jealous!!! as soon as I get a house with a garden I'm so going full blown crazy cat lady!

It wasn't our normal vet and for some reason (which I'm pretty annoyed about!) I completely forgot to ask her to measure Hattie's lump. It was 70mm last month. Just got to wait for the blood test results tomorrow or Saturday and go from there really Hattie didn't 'alf wriggle for such an old girl when the vet was trying to get some blood and has a pretty good choice of swear words in her vocabulary I mentioned that Hattie's gums HAD been looking a bit red and sore and vet agreed that those teeth DID need attention. I've been given more 5mg felimazole but only enough to last one week so looks like we'll be back next week for another check up. My gorgeous old girl is now fast asleep next to the Christmas tree She was having a good look at kitten in her crate earlier on but there was no hissing....she's such a lovely placid old dear who gets on with everyone

I am SUCH a Bad Mother Completely forgot to ring the vets on Saturday to find out the blood test results and only remembered on Sunday evening!!! Bad mummy!!! TBH I wasn't worried about them as Hattie has been SO fit and well in herself that I had a feeling she wasn't exactly at death's door Rang up this morning and results are.....Hattie is responding well to the increased dosage of Felimazole and can stay on 5mg twice a day and doesn't need to go back for another blood test for another 4-6 weeks I just need to pop into the surgery on Thursday to pick up another repeat prescription for her. I might ask about her teeth when I DO pop in as she really could do with some removed (tho' ARE they hurting her as she eats ok, dry and wet food, and doesn't flinch when I rub her cheeks and face?). Possibly the next thing is for her speeding heart rate to come down to a more manageable level

That is good news @gillykat, the vet's report not you forgetting! Although not that bad a mummy as if it was critical they would have contacted you.
