Pain gone, Kai Ruki happy and you too. He must have been really thankful that you came and took him home again. He will eat dry food soon (my toothless Vosje did).

I told my dentist that my cat was having teeth out and he said that the vets bill would definitely be more than mine - too true.

Took Kai Ruki to the vets yesterday to have his 1 bad tooth and 1 good tooth out - when I went to collect him at 4pm the nurse said something about the roots being worse than they thought and they took 6 TEETH OUT!! poor Kai Ruki. Usually when I take him to the vet he hates me and sulks for days but when I collected him he loved me. I poked my fingers in his carrier on the way home and he bumped his head against them and licked them. He loves me! - he must think I am a hero for getting him from there! When he came home he looked really spaced out for hours but managed to eat some wet cat food and then a whole pouch later on. He seems much happier. 6 teeth the pool fellow must have being feeling terrible will he be able to crunch them rc nuts when he is all healed up glad he is sorted and sure he does love u cat dont be the best at showing that but they do love us dont they

6 teeth? Wow! Has he got any left haha? Hope he recovers well. Carlotta was really funny after her teeth operation, she was swaggering around like she was drunk.

I keep trying to have a look at Hattie's mouth when we pop her thyroid pill down her neck and they look pretty yuck Doesn't seem to affect her eating though as she can clear a plate as good as the other two Hopefully we'll get good news re her bloods and thyroid when we are back on December 4th and she CAN have an anaesthetic to remove any bad teeth (and possibly her mystery lump) as I often worry about her being in pain and keeping it hidden from us Glad Kai Ruki came through his op ok I'm sure he'll feel a million times better in himself and be back to normal in a day or two (((HUGS)))

Kai Ruki is a lot better and so much happier. He is eating really well and keeps asking for more food when it's not meal time. He definitely needs the extra food - he is so thin. He has to go for a check-up on Thursday evening - I think the vet will be pleased with his recovery.

lotsofcats, That does sound like those teeth were really bothering him, cats shouldn't be such good concealers of pain. Glad to read Kai Ruki is eating well again & trying to catch up on his missed food. The idea of a thin Maine Coon just isn't right. Hope the vet is as pleased with his recovery on Thursday as he (& you) obviously are

lotsofcats, cats shouldn't be such good concealers of pain. That's what I worry about with Hattie - her mouth really hurting her but her not letting on She really tucks into her food tho' so I think she's ok for now. Glad Kai Ruki has his appetite back....he'll be making up for lost time and missed meals, bless him

Nothing like hearing a poorly pet has started to improve,it makes everyone feel happy. We all worry our socks off over them at some time and it's horrible.

It's just as well our furry horrors are good for our health as that must balance out the years they knock off us when we are worrying ourselves sick! Hattie has stopped limping now and I think perhaps she HAD just been lying awkward on her foreleg yesterday. Her eyes are looking a lot more focused too and she's put on weight as well so perhaps her regular medication is kicking in now She was 2.72kg on 10th November and this afternoon was 2.98kg so only a slight gain but at least it's going in the right direction!
