He's still eating okay and the swelling has gone down. I can see a scab on the edge of his mouth. No more food for him tonight just in case he has to have an x-ray in the morning. He's had a bit of diarrhoea which could be from the antibiotics.

I dropped Kai Ruki off in the vets at 8.45 this morning and the receptionists said he was lush because he looks like the cat off the O2 advert - same breed and colour. They will phone me in work and let me know what's happening.

I bet all the veterinary nurses will treat him like royalty. I wish him well Jenny. Take care.

The vet phoned me at 12.30. He said he was pleased with how Kai Ruki was responding to the antibiotics and didn't feel that an x-ray was necessary. He said he thought Kai Ruki had osteomyelitis, which is inflammation of the bone in his jaw. I have to keep him on the 2 lots of antibiotics, Antirobe and Clavaseptin, for 4 weeks and he has to go for a check-up on Thursday next week. I'm getting my insurance claim form - the bill was £68 on Thursday and £76.32 today. Hubby was going to collect Kai Ruki for me but I rang our home number and his mobile number and no answer - men!! I had to rush out from work and collect him and take him home so I used my dinner break plus another half hour!!

Oooh Clavaseptin...that name rings a bell Tho' I cannot remember which of our many oldies was on it....possibly darling Domino At one point we had four cats and three of them were on different medications Hope they do the trick and your gorgeous wee man is back to full fitness ASAP

That's good news lotsofcats. Sounds like the vets are covering all bases with the 2 different antibiotics.

Kai Ruki continues to improve - he looks so much happier and has started to eat his Maine Coon biscuits again.
