We've really made a breakthrough with Mouse (ginger) and Nemo (b+w) - Neil was bemoaning the fact that Monty wasn't sitting on his lap but was, instead, a Mummy's Boy so I piked up Mouse from the tree and cuddled him till he purred (didn't take long - just seconds) then passed him to Neil and he was soon relaxed and snuggled in his arms as Neil gave him chin & cheek rubs. I did the same with Nemo and soon had him purring too. Later on we had just sat down to a chicken curry when I was MOBBED by the two gingers!!! Mouse was getting courage from Monty being completely unafraid and soon I had the two of them trying to grab pieces of chicken from my plate!!! And within ten minutes Mouse seemed to have realised we meant no harm and was bouncing around on top of us, head butting Monty and just generally emerging as a very cheeky little boy Tail up, purring, letting me stroke him as he walked across my legs!!!!!!! HUGE steps!!!!!! Nemo was asleep whilst all this was going on but even he has seemed a whole more confident and outgoing today and when I got home and scooped out their litter trays then did three saucers of food both he and Monty were winding around my feet Let's see what tomorrow brings....I have a chicken breast to cook just for them!

Aw, Monty, Mouse and Nemo - named at last! I like their names. The new ones are gaining confidence. Seems like they weren't bothered with in their previous home.

There were 4 in the litter and the scruffy chav was actually complaining about them being so lively!!! Personally I absolutely LOVE the craziness I certainly don't think they were handled much. Now when we pick them up they tense but then relax and start to purr SO loudly I'm going to try to restore order today whilst they're sleeping by hoovering, reorganising their toys (ha! I doubt they'll stay in one spot!) and attempt to get the living room less of a war zone!

Oh,I love them. Great pictures. Though I have had a number of females, I've always preferred males. In my experience they are more affectionate. I was surprised when I read "Monty's brothers". I thought you adopted even more kittens. Glad they are going on well together. Enjoy.

The video is lovely - so sweet when Monty climbs in with Mouse and Nemo and starts to wash them. I've watched it 3 times!!
I've just had another sneaky watch! I can't resist them.

My cats I have now are 4 girls and 3 boys.

We've had 3 females & 2 boys over time, each with their own personalities & so different. Chloe - adopted us - was very independent but could be a lapcat. Female, 50/50 black & white Roman - adopted us at the rescue - there was no doubt about that. A really loving cat but not a lapcat. His face lights up when he looks at us. A softee with us & the terror of the local cats (although age is slightly tempering his fighting!). Male, ginger tabby with some white. Penny & Osiris - came from the same household into the rescue - but so very different not just in age. Penny definitely a lap cat , especially Mark's. She was small stubborn & feisty older lady. Female tuxedo cat Osiris no way a lapcat, can be a grump puss, especially with other cats, although he can be very loving at times! He never grew put of the difficult teenager & is our April Fool! Male, Dark brown mackerel tabby Lexie, an in your face cat (with any part of her body ) when she wants something, demands attention & lets you know if she doesn't get it!! A real character, likes to consider herself independent but isn't really. Female calico cat So can't make a preference based on gender or colour just on a specific cat - I bet you can guess which

I think I'm winning the war on the fleas - gave both a good comb through a few minutes ago and only five fleas I've got them booked in for a check-up and worming/defleaing on Thursday morning at 9am.....all three of them as Monty was due his worming as well. Thank heavens we have the car now - it would have been fun trying to carry two baskets or staggering the appointments throughout the whole day! I imagine vets have been inundated this summer with folk needing flea stuff

Had another comb through this morning and fleas = ZERO Chuffed to bits but NOT going to be complacent....even though I've now done the entire flat room by room over the past three days with Indorex I don't trust those bouncy monsters The Boys have been VERY lively this morning Whilst drying my hair I had Monty and Nemo on my lap and Mouse raiding my bin for cotton buds and tissues as fast as I was dropping them in....little tinker!!! Thankfully they're now fast asleep on the bed and enjoying the sun streaming through the windows

I treated my lot with Advocate for fleas on Monday as they have been scratching. We found some on the dog but I hadn't seen any on the cats.

Touch wood, not had any this year, unlike last year when they were rife, and ticks too.
