So sad to read this. As it never happened before,I hope that is not the cats but the combination you mentioned. Your house must feel empty without the rascals. I feel for you.

OMG I really hope it’s not the cats ☹️It will be so devestating for you but you would still be able to see your boys but I know it would just not be the same ☹️ I will be keeping everything crossed for you x

Well......tomorrow, Sunday 11th November, is D Day! It's Andrew & Deborah's 30th wedding anniversary so we're going down to see them (well, ok, going to see my babies really ) and we'll see how Neil is. He's been fit as a flea for the past 10 days with no issues with his chest or breathing so.......FINGERS CROSSED!!!!!! You never know....if things go ok perhaps we could bring the boys home too I certainly hope so because it's just SO quiet.....TOO quiet!!!!!

Well.....it looks like it IS an allergy Neil has been perfectly ok for the past few weeks since the boys went to stay with his brother yet within five minutes of us getting to their house yesterday at around 12.30 he was feeling a tightening of the chest and had to go outside to take a few puffs of his inhaler Even when Debbie put the boys upstairs in their spare room Neil still felt very unwell so we cut our visit short....such a shame as we were going to go for a few drinks and a meal with them and Neil's dad Debbie and Andrew are more than happy to keep the three boys as they've become VERY attached to them in the short time they've been staying there and I suppose I can still see them as they grow (just means having to hose myself down in the shower when I return home before I go anywhere near Neil ). I just cannot get over how it's suddenly come on after all these years of us having various cats - long & short haired Neil feels as guilty as anything.....as well as REALLY missing having our three tearaways trashing the house I'm not sure what to do now......will this allergy be brought on by other animals? I'm I going to be restricted to just a GOLDFISH? I'm trying not to think about it at the moment TBH as it's so upsetting

I'm gutted for you Gillykat. A goldfish just isn't the same as a cat! If you are desperate for a cat there are some breeds that are fine for people with allergies, they include Siberian, Balinese and Russian Blue. Perhaps they do rescues - get googling.
