I would never have thought to make scrambled egg for the cats. Your lot certainly seemed to like it.

There's not a lot that Mouse doesn't like! I double-checked it was ok and it went down ok but I don't think it'll be something I give on a regular basis

A success. Never thought of it. Besides Im too lazy. Something else. When it was hot I bought "an animal drinking bowl with a cooling system" The water stayed cold for about 8 hours. They loved it. The cooling mat was ignored.

My lot ignored the cooling mats too. What a great idea to have a drinking bowl with a cooling system.

Gillykat is there a reason that all your photos of the lovely kitten have been deleted?

I've moved the photos as I didn't want to keep them all in one place ad then not be able to access them if the hosting site changed it's rules (like PB did with us - I lot a load of pics of my old cats ). VERY bad news regarding my boys though I've had to 'temporarily' rehome them with my brother & sister-in-law for now until we sort out a solution. Neil began to get very chesty and short of breath and at first we thought it was because he'd had a bad cold a fortnight earlier and, being Type 2 diabetic, it was just taking longer than normal to clear his system. Then at the beginning of October he was REALLY struggling to breath and I had to call an ambulance!!!! I was just glad I was at home when it happened as I was due to start work later that day. As it turned out they took him to Alnwick Infirmary and kept him in overnight to see if things improved. He came home the next day and within minutes was gasping for breath again!!! So I rang the hospital again and they said to bring him back in (it's only a couple of minutes by car so I said I'd bring him in rather than them send an ambulance). This time he was in for 36hrs and in that time I made a decision (based on what I'd seen his reaction turn into once he got home) and I called Neil's brother Andrew to update him on Neil's progress (ie backwards!) and it was him who suggested the one thing I'd been thinking myself but refused to even contemplate - that Neil had developed an allergy to CATS!!!!! Surely after 20+ years this was not some spiteful trick his body would play on us? I know he's always been quite chesty around birds as the dust from their feathers would set him off but he's always been ok with everything else. Anyway, Andrew suggested my bringing the three kittens down to his house and he would keep them for a few weeks to see if Neil improved and if he did to then come down to visit the boys and see if Neil had any adverse reaction. If not we could take them back home but if he started getting breathless again.....well, we'd just have to sort something out from there.... So I dismantled their giant tree, packed up all their toys, food, litter etc and took them to stay with Uncle Andrew and Auntie Deborah Then once I got back home I absolutely NUKED the house - hoovered, cleaned, dusted, changed ALL the bedding.....honestly, I was up till gone midnight doing everything I could to remove every single bit of fur and dander I possibly could.....even left the windows open overnight to air off the rooms as much as possible. I guess the one silver lining to this is that the house has never been SO clean I've never been one for using scented cleaning products or air fresheners etc as they must be SO strong smelling to animals.....I don't even have scented candles in our home Upshot now is......Neil's breathing is back to normal (doctor gave him an inhaler just in case but from what we told him he reckoned it could be the cats ) but he feels SO guilty at the kittens having to live at his brother's because he knows I'm missing them like crazy. Andrew & Deborah thankfully really like cats and only lost their 16yo last year so it's not an ordeal to have the boys in their home and we are thinking about popping down next week to see if Neil's breathing behaves or whether, as I fear, it'll seize up once more and we'll have to make a Big Decision Deborah is completely smitten with the kittens and has told Andrew that if we DO have them back then she wants two of her own (she's only ever had older cats ad is loving the craziness of three babies tearing around hahaha) but I just have this AWFUL feeling that the boys will be staying there I'm hoping against hope that it WAS just a reaction to Neil having a bad cold combined with his diabetes but......let's just say I'm in a bit of a limbo situation at the moment and feel completely empty and lost This is the first time I've felt able to even think about coming online as I've just been in floods since they left *sigh* Life really is poo at times, isn't it?

OMG! How awful for you all. I hope that Neil is much better now. I really hope that he will be okay when you both go to visit the kittens. Good luck.
