Well touch wood up to now he was not sick yesterday and he’s not been sick today up to now . Hubby thinks it was an expensive doo just to tell us what I thought I already knew. But i’m not bothered I just wanted to get him checked over since it had been going on for a good couple of weeks/ plus i would have been thinking about other things in the back of my mind 😊so it was peace of mind as well . Plus she did say monitor things and if things are still the same to bring him back .

Just a little update on Freddy- he had is dental yesterday . He had 2 teeth extracted and a scale ☹️So they were worse than expected so really glad that I booked him in.
I collected him at 4pm yesterday expecting him to be really tired but all he was interested in was food lol🤣that’s Freddy 😂
I was sent home with a pouch of wet food for sensitive tummy’s and I gave him some at tea because he was screaming at the cupboard in the kitchen and then again at 10pm his normal supper time 😀
The pooches must have sensed he wasn’t himself- I was concerned that Elsa might be too hyper for him but she just sat at the side of him and Riley was sniffing him all over .
He woke at 4:30 starving hungry again so I gave him a little wet and then he settled until 7:15am so I got up with him and mixed some of his pain relief into a little bit more wet food and he is now settled with me on the sofa😀
He has to go back Monday teatime just for a check up with the nurse. They sent a leaflet home with him advising to start a teeth brushing routine I can’t really see him tolerating that lol😂 Riley has his teeth brushed but Elsa goes crazy there’s no chance so I might look at getting some plaque off it might help a little bit .

so I might look at getting some plaque off it might help a little bit . Glad all went well for Freddy ( even thou he lost a couple of teeth along the way. ) A little bit is better than none at all chantel . I swear Beaus teeth would have been really bad if I hadn't given it on his food once a day , usually the afternoon/evening feed so it worked over night too. Good luck.

Tried brushing Elsa’s teeth again this morning and she goes crazy 😂 lol. Elsa would eat it mixed into food not sure if Riley would if it has a funny taste but certainly worth a try 😀

Glad that Freddy's dental went well and he's feeling better and eating well. It's strange how other pets know if one isn't well or has been to the vets. Blackberry was the last one of mine to have a dental but luckily she didn't have to have any teeth taken out.

Just a little update on Freddy- well what can I say he’s like a different cat since he’s had his dental - touch wood he’s not been sick once. And I’v bought some plaque off to put on his food and he’s eating it fine. We just got him done in time - our vets have gone back now to just doing emergencies.

A little update on Little Freddy- I noticed something not quite right with Freddy’s left eye 👁 quite a while ago just before the 1st lock down 😾 I noticed it when he was sat on the stairs and the kitchen light was shining his left eye was really shiny compared to his rt eye it’s quite difficult to explain- at first I thought it was just the reflection of the light. But as time went on I became really anxious about it - Hubby said it was just me over thinking again. But I was not happy so took Freddy to the vets but was not allowed to go in and the vet said it was definitely different to his other eye and to keep an eye on it and review in 6 months .So as you can imagine my anxiety levels went really high and I didn’t want to post anything in case I got negative comments that would make things worse 🥲 I took him back yesterday he was due his boosters and a health check .I saw a different vet he was really good and gave him a full examination and said it seemed to be more his actual lens he got looked at his eye with the light off and his torch and said that his eye was following his finger and that it looks like he has got a slow growing cataract probably caused by trauma/injury when he was a kitten but said it had not changed since the last time they saw him . The only thing that comes to mind when I got him at 9 weeks was his left eye was really runny. The vet said good on me for spotting it they didn’t even spot it when he had his dental. I just hope it doesn’t deteriorate but thought I would update you all. Xx

chantel, Well spotted:) It does sound like that his very runny eye could well have been linked to the cause is a strong possibility. I presume it doesn't bother Freddy. Thanks for the update & hope that your anxiety levels have gone down since Freddy got a really good vet examination this time and a diagnosis. I looked back & realised it is 5 years ago that you got Freddy, doesn't time fly! He looks a real character in that photo & no sign of anything wrong with his eyes so again a good spot by you.

Yes tonib definitely a good spot - Freddy was 6 in April how time flies by . It’s not really noticeable unless the light reflects and his eye is not white and cloudy Lille I remember phoebes cataracts to be it just shines really green an shiny although now I know it’s there I can tell it’s definitely different to his other eye . But the vet says it’s not progressing so that’s good - I’m just glad we eventually got a diagnosis 😻

Well spotted chantel. Kobi has one eye like that and I will be mentioning it to the vet at his check up booked for 30th August. I can't go earlier as he's on steroids at the moment and they won't do his booster until they are finished. I'll be watching with interest to see what happens with Freddy.
