So sorry to hear about your horrific experience!
I can fully understand why you would want to stop feeding raw after this experience, I am a raw feeder and will continue to do so, I have had a couple of hairy moments but both times it has been with meaty chunks and not bones....nearly had to lift my dog up and shake her but she managed to dislodge it herself and the other time my dog managed to regurgitate the bit of meat back up just in time too.
Big hugs to Bernie :0

So glad Bernie's now OK. It really must have been frightening for you & Ryan, never mind Bernie. Poor boy, I bet he feels awful biting you two but it's quite understandable. Hope the wounds aren't too painful now & are nicely clean & protected.
Sounds like the dried suits him to a T, hope that solves his being sick.

Just come on and found I'd missed all the excitement. So glad Bernie's now back to normal with no ill effects. I hope your war wounds are healing ok. I know how they feel. I ended up in A&E after getting between our little cat Bandit and our old dog Jess. But look on the bright side, everything happens for a reason, and you've found out he's better on dry food instead of raw. Sending you hugs.

That is exactly how I'm looking at it cazypops. I was getting carried away preaching about raw and not realising that it wasn't agreeing with him. And Ryan doesn't mind receiving kisses from him now that he hasn't got his salmonella tongue lol. Anyone use Plaque Off ? I use it on Beau has helped petitsfilous with the breath tartar and plaque

Oh, what a scare for you petitsfilous! I can completely understand you not wanting to feed him raw anymore. I was going to suggest that you try him on the raw pre-prepared minces if you still wanted to feed raw, but if it doesn't really agree with him then I think you've made the right decision - and if he hasn't been sick, then that's got to be a good thing! Glad to hear he's doing okay now

Good to hear the dry food seems to agree with him, lets hope there is no more sickness. And just to do my Mother Hen bit, I hope you have both cleaned your war wounds thoroughly with some surgical spirit or the likes?? Give Bernie a big huggle form me and Cooper sends smoochie face kisses.

Bernie is well! Currently pulling all his toys out his bag one by one and scattering them across the living room which WAS nice and tidy I've been at work 8-12 so I just had the most wonderful welcome home from him Kibble is still going down well. I thought he might suffer from an upset tummy with going cold turkey straight onto dry but his poos are perfect! And smell less than his raw poos did! I like the fact that they're consistent. With raw, they were hard one day and runny the next. It was a bit of a battle maintaining consistency. Anyway. TMI! Happy Bernie and happy mum! xxx
