As Alfie gets walked quite a lot, I'm looking for something to help protect his pads. They are not sore/cracked or anything but are getting slightly rough and looking as if they could use some TLC
I've seen various paw balms/creams available, does anyone have any recommendations? Are there any human products that could do the same job?

Not something I've ever really used myself but I've seen people rave about the Herbal Pet Supplies products and they do a paw balm (http://herbalpetsupplies.co.uk/product/paws-for-applause/) that might be worth looking into? There's also the Paw Butter from Pet Head.
Or, I think plain old coconut oil would probably help too.

The Pet Head paw butter is the one I was considering buying but the one you linked to looks good too I didn't think of coconut oil, that would work out a lot cheaper! I might try that for a bit and see how we go.

Well the Herbal Pet Supplies one is made up of coconut oil, so I'm sure that plain coconut oil would work. I guess you'd just need to be careful on slippery floors until the oil is absorbed.
