Whilst reading through the June edition of the Your Dog Magazine I noticed a article regarding a rescue remedy for Anxiety (Bach Rescue Remedy ) - it is a calming herbal support containing - chamomile, passionflower and valerian, it is a Remedy that you had just a few drops to your dogs food or water.
I was wondering if anyone has tried this Remedy and what were the effects. I have had a look on amazon and it is priced around ยฃ8.00. But I was just wondering if anyone had tried it before I give it a go. ๐

chantel, I seem to remember someone on the old Your Cat forum used to it was use the Bach remedies. I'll ask Elaine (Ajax) if it was her or she can remember who it was & if it was any good. I think there were a few who thought that it worked.

We tried using it with our old dog (who was very sound sensitive) but never noticed any difference in her.
We then tried "Pet Remedy" which is a ' natural de-stress and calming spray' and can be applied to pet bedding etc ( we used it on a bandana for Kizzy so it was with her all the time). It is a natural remedy containing valerian etc. Whether it was wishful thinking on our part I don't know but it SEEMED to have a soothing effect on her for her many vet visits.

I have never used it, but I know that the Bach Rescue Remedy can be used for dogs. Yes, I have looked into the use of Bach remedies caz2golden, although haven't used any as yet. What I have used are floral/aromatic waters for Ellie. So far, they seem to be the only things that work to calm her anxieties. I use quite a variety including the following: Angelica Root Valerian Cornflower Rose Otto Roman Chamomile German Chamomile Frankincense Yarrow Melissa I buy them all from Naturally Animals, however, I have also had a zoopharmacognosy consultation done for her so I know which ones she selected. To administer them, I spray them onto my hand and she either licks it off or doesn't, depending on what she wants that day. Having said that, she did not select Melissa during our consultation, but it's one that she really likes. They're worth looking into.

chantel, Finally asked Ajax about it she's only used the Bach Rescue Remedy for emergency stresses with cats rather than on any form of regular usage. However she did mention she's used another brand Bioforce as well which does Bach Flower pre-made combinations for specific reasons Timid, Separation, Over-Dominant, Highly Strung & Emergency. It appears that Bioforce is based on the work of A. Vogel so if you search for Bioforce you'll also see that come up as they are connected.
