Jess is having dry food tonight, about 80g as she had liver cake at our training class. Update on her tummy: She was getting so much better, her poo was firm again but then, just before the class today, it came out runny again. Mum spotted a worm in it and I saw a little blood. We are going to be looking up what to do and another trip to the vets may be needed. She must have eaten something we didn't know about Is she up to date with her wormers?

Sorry to hear about Jess CurlyCubCooper has had Sardines in tomatoe sauce added to his breakfast over the last two days and he LOVES them. Looks like I will be sticking with the tinned fish rather than the cereal free wet food?!?

Well Earl will have branflakes included in his tea tonight at around 5. We are keeping them up in hope the will improve his anal sacs, and so far so good. I don't give him them every night however because I read in a magazine bran in cereal includes other ingredients and it shouldn't be fed on a regular basis because of these ingredients, so we are being flexible and adding them to his food less now.

Is she up to date with her wormers? Yes she is And thank you for your concern gladys, sounds like Cooper enjoyed it! This is an odd occurrence. If she is up to date with her wormers, it would be surprising to find a 'worm' in her faeces (as well as blood, but that's a separate problem...) So with the blood - how big are her faeces? Is she going to do a number 2 on a regular basis, or does she rarely pass stools? She could simply not be relieving herself from stools as much as supposed. This could be causing lager faeces when they come out, meaning she has to force the faeces out causing anus to bleed slightly. It is hard to give help and support when this kind of information is not known. I could be completely wrong - like I said, I don't know the information.

Yes that's the strange thing, she is going regularly. She seems completely herself too - so it's not bothering her, not that I can tell anyway. It's ok BT, you're doing your best to help and that's all I ask

You ought to speak to a vet - maybe take a faeces sample in a little tub to show them - maybe its disgusting but if its to help Jess then surely it is bearable xxx

I agree with BT you dont usually see a worm unless you have a worm issue!! Curlycub dont think me rude but what wormer do you use? It may be that your wormer does not cover the worm she has at the moment! Lots of wormers dont cover everything. When did you last worm her as it may be worth repeating. Most oral wormers dont stay in system you can repeat more often than the 3 months if required! However if it is Advocate then get vets advice as that does stay in system and I dont know enough to help. If it is Advocate you use I believe that tapeworm is not covered and needs to be covered separately. What type of worm did your mum see? Roundworms often look like noodles tapeworm often looks like rice

I use 'Milbemax' wormer and I think it is a good effective one.
The tablets have a meaty taste and look like any old piece of kibble, and are soft for the dog to eat. My Earl loves them!? Earl hasn't had any worms that I have been aware of so far, touch wood, so I assume I have myself a reliable worming product which is always nice to find yourself saying.
If your worming type turns out to not cover all worms and is just not the product you are happy with, I would recommend Milbemax.

Forgot photos today, sorry!
Anyway, they had....
AMBER: Chicken Leg & Carcass (Also gave her a whole apple but she didn't touch it!)
HOLLY: Pork Rib (Loved it and got a real good chew out of it)
WILSON: Poultry Necks & Chunk of Mackerel (This is the first meal he has actually had to chew and he enjoyed it lots!)
