Toffee had to go to the vets on Thursday for his booster and annual check up. At the last vet visit he was weighed and was 6.13 kg. I remarked to my daughter that I hoped he hadn't put any weight on and she commented that he looked as if he had lost a bit.......NO! he has put on more and now weighs 6.88 kg - that's over 15 pounds! what a whopper! I was told to cut his food down to 1 sachet a day of wet food and I had to buy Royal Canin Light biscuits for him. Unfortunately he goes visiting other people so I may have to write 'Do not feed me' on his collar.
Toffee was a very good boy at the vets until in came 2 women with a huge slobbering, wheezing Bulldog and a very inquizitive Jack Russell who kept pulling on one of those extendable leads and coming over to see Toffee's carrier. Toffee started to growl so I remarked that he didn't like dogs but the silly woman would pull him back and then a minute later he would come over again. Once in to see the vet Toffee was very well behaved.
I couldn't do my photo of Toffee; I got the message 'this forum has exceeded its attachment space limit' - tried again but no. Anyone else having problems?

Oh poor Toffee, starvation rations. Penny sends her sympathies - she had to lose a whole kilo from 5-4 Kg! That was bad behaviour by the owner of the Jack Russell. It may be an extendable lead but it doesn't have to be! Regardless of a cat being in a carrier (& thought to be protected) it is good manners to keep the pets apart from each other in the waiting room of the vets regardless of breeds. You never know why they are there, how they will react & what stresses they are going through . The same applies to human interaction with them. As to the photo upload from your computer there is a problem Also... I'm aware we've hit our maximum storage capacity and I'm trying to look at upgrade options. Thanks! Photobucket/Flickr or other hosting services still work as they don't actually upload but just link to the copy on the host. There's a couple of helps on loading photos & photobucket on the help thread in the General area. Help Index link

Poor Toffee, fancy having to go on a diet. I know what you mean about people in vets waiting rooms. I took Boo once and some little brat ( that's not what i really thought he was ) kept trying to stick his fingers in the carrier. It got me really mad but his gormless mother just sat there. (I t5rrrrrrrr) That was Ivan typing hello. June.x.

Ruppee is getting to this stage. I noticed last night that he gets so far through the cat flap and then heaves himself the rest of the way. I suspect that is why he's taken to waiting by the front door now. I'm thinking of getting him along to one of the vet nurses as they do free weigh ins. (Oh the shame)!

Poor Toffee. Bert was put on a diet because he weighed 8kg, but it was impossible to stop him eating the other cats food. I think he was a secret maine coon, hiding in a moggie (big) body.
I can't post any pictures either. Toni said to try flicker, but I haven't got an account

Pets I own: Rosie a Maine Coon, Red and Cream.Aged 4 year in (May2014), a BIG quiet girl, and TiaMaria a Black Russian years on (Nov 2013) who is amazing fun.
Sadly Tia was killed in July 2014 by a car.
My son has Parkinsons and lives 2 miles from me. I got him RILEY a black stray 2year old in February 2014, but from a rescue 14 months ago.Very involved with him !
Pebbles age unknown, thrown out of a car, went to my daughter. Also involved with him ! ALL are adorable and so different.
Now (OCT 2014) have a kitten called Lilyana. She looks like her Mum, a Russian Blue. Her Dad is a Rag Doll. She was born on 24/07/2014....the day my darling Tia was killed on the road.
This was meant to be and she is helping me grieve for Tia. Lilyana is delightful.Rosie is now taking to her

Reds were my first love....I can't see past them and yours is just lovely. My Rosie just loves her Royal Canin dried food so I don't think he will notice it is diet food. Hope he enjoys it. Let us know how he takes to it please.
