Hello
Im new to the site but hope someone can maybe give me some advice.
We have a 22 month old German Shepard named lillie who otherwise is really well behaved but we are having problems with her urinating indoors.
She came from a couple who had several other dogs all german shepards that were living outside in the barns on a farm in wales. They all seemed to have been kept well and all playfull and active. We got her in december 2012.
Lillie is very good overnight we have no accidents but for some reason between 3 & 4 in the afternoon she will urinate on the carpet near the front door weather were in or out we have put her out in the garden and she can be out there for some time but she will come in and at some point urinate on the carpet. She has on a few occasions urinated in the early evening again near the front door she does not go out the front door not even when we take her for a walk we always go out the back.
We have had her checked at the vets and he said she seemed fine and healthy and suggested putting her in a cage as did the blue cross and our local animal shelter. im a bit reluctant to do this as as we both work and it would mean her being shut in it for 8hrs and it would be cruel to put her in it just incase for the evening we like to have her with us.
She doesnt bark infact she's only just started to bark if someone comes to the door. she occasionally comes to us and were guessing as to weather she wants a fuss to play or go outside.
We have tried a tall stair gate to keep her just in the kitchen and dinng room but she chewed the lock off we've also turned the handles upside down to keep her in but she can still open the door.
hoping some one can give me some ideas
Many thanks
Trish
